People think I am a hard nosed bitch at first, if I had a penny for every time someone said
"OMG I HATED you at first, but you are really nice!!!!!"
Id be rich... seriously. =/
I have NO doubt in my mind that MOST people at my new job think I am intimidating and rude... the looks I get makes me laugh... I wanna change that perception, because I love people... but I just dont know how... Im too busy to be trying to make friends during work hours... they need to see me after a few drinks 😉

I guess I seem friendly because I smile easily. It might be more of a lighter first step than humor, which people might misinterpret, as you said, or maybe take as a form of aggression. I think smiling at least shows that you're acknowledging other people and being receptive to them. I also heard, though, that smiling is actually a sign of weakness...something like people who smile less are more often ones who rise to positions of authority.
Also, I knew someone who didn't seem to have different gradations to their smile, if that makes sense. They went from normal face straight to highbeams, and I have to say it was kind of scary to me! As long as you don't do this maniac-mask kind of thing, then it might help some.

Everyone I have ever met has said that I look stuck up or bitchy. They say I have mean eyes... But in reality I'm just really shy and kind of vigilant. 😛

I don't think humor is the best way to make a first impression because being strangers it makes it very easy to misintepret and misunderstand eachother, especially if you're not on the same level. Your sense of humour can really say everything about you. On the other hand, I hate always being the SERIOUS new acquaintance, maybe a little on the strange side. Great, I'm one of those humorless "he was such a nice and quiet man" weirdos...
