Unless you can masturbate to it there is no point.
:/

Well i'd say Instagram is the spot for that then. 90% of it is just stupid naked whores.. Self proclaimed models .. SMH

I was kidding, but it would be better then a dirty porn site.

It's weird but when porn has gotten so overrated looking at normal people in like a magazine for instance is all of a sudden better again.

Instagram is for all those self-proclaimed model and low self esteem individuals looking for validating on their filtered pics :S That latter baffles me because you're getting compliments on something you don't even look like so what is it doing for your self esteem?
The amount of selfies telling something about someone's self esteem.

Ain't that the truth! There's definitely a correlation between number of selfies to one's self esteem. My mom showed me this girl's pic that she has on her whatsapp. She asked me after showing me the pic if I recognized her. I honestly didn't and she goes this is so and so from thing. I'm like noooo way!!! She had instagramed her pic to the point that she was unrecognizable. What she did with teh pic was smooth out her skin, made it fair and had 3 layers of make up, and as you know make up already changes the face (if you're putting a lot)

I like it for photography stuff and then random shit I want to share. But I agree, the selfie bit is fucking annoying. I've taken people off of IG because I am so over them flooding their feed with their stupid, dopey faces.

My friend's 13 year old daughter is the worse. Every day, there's at least 5-6 selfies of self deprecation (I'm so ugly in this pic!) and it's like omg THIS is our future. :/ But she's a Gem, so I'm not all that surprised either haha.

Otherwise, I follow friends who aren't annoying, photography stuffs, and funny accounts.

IG is just the result of what usually happens via social media when it gains traction. It starts off with a really decent intent (in this case photo sharing for those who actually liked taking pictures) and then the masses followed and degraded it into the selfie whore fest it's become.

Much like anything else in life...it's what you make it. I follow it for food porn, fashion, makeup inspiration, fitness, funny memes, celebrities I admire...etc. my boyfriend Is pretty good at photography and uses it to showcase his talent occasionally.
Something I've noticed is that IG being IG is that people use images to relay information. ...which is fine, but I can't help but link that to illiteracy in a way. I work in a restaurant that doesn't use pictures in its menus. I've had too many 20 somethings look absolutely flustered when seeing the massive walls of text. They've gotten too used to images giving them all their information and have lost any sort of imagination because they don't read their information anymore. They scroll and click for pictures.

I had one actually tell me something like, "I have a question. There's no pictures! I don't know what this is?"

...*facepalm* It's a good thing you're pretty, honey. *sigh*

/ random tangent.

Anyone else find Instagram fucking pointless and a way for this new generation of attention whores to just say
"Hey hey look at me I'm an attention whore"

Lol

I had Instagram for a while but purely to promote my business once I found no use for it anymore I deleted it be its stupid and pointless

Am I the only one —!
In a sense, dxpnet is geared up towards the same purpose.
+1

This is why we had such a backlash about blocking awhile back. "HOW DARE SOMEONE BLOCK MY VOICE/OPINION. I'M ME AND DESERVE TO BE HEARD BY EVERYONE!"

Bitch please.

The fall landscape photos were dope.
Thanks! You know how I found out about that place? From National Geographic's instagram account.

Lmao...I would have been like girl this ain't Waffle House. Most even just semi-decent restaurants don't have pictures...or am I imagining things?

All your lower range, "family" style restaurants make heavy use of pictures. I've noticed that the "higher" scale they are, the fewer pictures they use. They anticipate clientèle that actually knows how to read. Tbh, that's what kills me the most about where I work- the clientèle. So many tacky, trashy wannabes. It's like, go home. Why are you here? Manners are free, go get some. It's kind of depressing, really haha.

...maybe there should be a "Free manners" coupon on IG, I bet people would grab it in a heartbeat. Free ninety nine ftw.

That's it, I'm checking it out. I'll probably hate it and not understand how it's any different than google images, but fuck it.
I didn't bother with one for awhile until I wanted to see something specific. I made an account and just kept it. Tbh, I could probably unfollow all the individuals and just follow Natgeo, the server accounts, and Simpsons clips accounts, etc.

It's like a customized visual entertainment feed haha.

I decided no. I didn't like the fact its an app not an url. The app needs access to the phones location, contacts, identity, photos/media/files, camara, and microphone. It's basically telling you the app has 100% permission to access your phone.

It's 100% mockery of what people do and how they use social media.

agreed. The most stupidest thing I experienced is how one of my school modules used instagram to be graded. We were required to take pictures and give a competitive description of it to get our marks LOL.

I was tempted to fail it simply because it was dumb and that I refused to get an ig. Social media screw up life outside cyberspace. Keep social media to a minimal and live real life. If you have pictures, use film or a proper digital camera and print them out. The quality is so much better anyways.

Ok that didn't even occur to me.. I don't know why I sometimes see things too literally, it's annoying.

Anyway, won't be following it but good to know, good to know

That account is hilarious. Total mockery. I gotta give those accounts credit- they're calling the bs where they see it.
