european movies not in the U.S.

so I've heard abotu a bunch of them so far...and I think I#m going to get the one movie Deed Pole with orlando blume as a pastor who has sex with his deovting worshippers or some such nonsense..but suppoosed to be a really good movie, just too racy for the U.S. but I heard about this thing where they can encrypt DVDs to be region sensitive? and does that work on my PS2? if anyone knows about this, or about other good movies, i'd love to hear
