Fun & Easy Songs to Play

Okay, I'm always on a quest to find fun & easy songs to play on my guitar, since I'm no expert as a musician and I really just want to know how to do a bunch of good simple songs so that I can, once I'm really good enough, entertain people when camping and things like that. lol 🙂

Songs I can play that I think are fairly easy:

James Blunt's "You're Beautiful"
John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane"
America's "Horse With No Name"
The Beatles' "Blackbird"
Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" (I can only play up until they start rocking out though!)
Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl"

Contributions anyone?

Oooh and I just learned a very basic version of "Scarborough Fair" (Simon & Garfunkel). I love playing and singing that one. It's almost spooky.

Have you tried some Cat Stevens?

GnR Don't Cry (my cousin chick picked it up in one afternoon)

I have yet to try any Cat Stevens, but I love a lot of his stuff so I really should.

Yeah I'd say Cat Steven's songs are fairly simple. I've just picked up the gee-tar too Phoenix but all I can play very feebly is Singin In the Rain so you're ahead of me anyway! It hurts the fingers when you're starting off dunnit?

Yeah I'm sorry to say it hurts like hell...make sure you play *every day* otherwise in the beginning your fingertips will get too soft and then the pain is there forever.

I don't think mine stopped hurting (and sometimes they still do a tiny bit!) for at least a few months.

I think I can play the hook to "Ceremony" by Joy Division. Kinda easy...
