While taking a nap this afternoon, I was laying there, thinking about my dreams .. recalling them, trying to see if I could slip back into one while drifting off. And during this analyzation of all the dreams I could remember .. I realized ... most of my dreams are the same thing over and over.
Odd ...
The scenery may change, or the location, or the people ... but, what I'm doing in the dreams repeat themselves, and have been for some time.
For instance .... I fly alot, I fly nearly once a month. Many dreams are of me driving, different autos, different roads, but, still driving. Another common dream is inside a house, or a building ... again, at least once a month I have a dream about wondering from room to room in a house, sometimes filled with furniture, sometimes empty. The best experience I've ever been left with from dreams is when I'm really high - like a tower, or a cliff .... I'm just always standing there so high up that I can't even see the ground .. this dream happens all the time, and when it does, I feel so great! Most happiest - yet, in real life I have a horrible fear of heights .. great anxiety.
And I've realized that these same actions in my dreams have been happening for 30 years or more.
Do you guys find yourselves having reaccuring dreams, or the action reacurring with a scenery change?
Do you think they are hidden messages, and that I will continue to have them until the message becomes clear?
I had a recurring dream when I was a teenager about this man who was always trying to kill me, but the scenery would change, like in yours. He would always get me cornered in a high place (a mountain, a tall building)and I would choose to jump off rather than let him catch me. Of course, I always woke up before I hit the ground. It was an awful nightmare. Once he had chased me off a cliff, and I had caught myself on the rocks and was holding on. I actually felt the jagged edges hurting my palms. Well, when I woke up, my palms were bleeding cause I'd dug my nails into them. FUN! I never saw his face, I just knew he was one bad dude. To this day, I don't know what the dream was trying to tell me. I stopped having it in my early twenties.
P, your euphoria when you're in high places in your dreams may have something to do with your perspective. Maybe it's telling you to see the big picture of an issue that's concerning you. From your posts here, you're quite good at that, so maybe there's a different way of looking at something you haven't yet noticed.
Flying to me always symbolizes freedom. A breaking free of something. Or maybe..you should go skydiving...lol
I run and fall off cliffs alot. I was constantly falling off cliffs and having the body jerking reaction while awake about 4-5 years ago. Its an annoying feeling.
I dont remember my dreams usually, but the ones I do remember are always the very physical dreams where my body actually feels like I was doing whatever it was in my dream in real life.
i had a dream about a month ago where me, this one very well-put together gentleman and 3 girls went back to said gentlemen's mansion. throughout the dream there was this really eerie vibe, like the guy was up to some sinister stuff and i didn't want to be around for it. all the women were dressed very scandalously (like prostitutes) and seemed very nervous. i could tell that he knew i was thinking of escape and after he showed me my bedroom for the night, i escaped into the surrounding town outside the mansion. i ran through busy streets until i thought i was free, but then when i sat down to celebrate my freedom i saw him staring at me from across the street. after that, i woke up.
the scary thing is, i had this weird feeling all through the dream that this man was me, and i was running from myself.
