How do you do it to yourself?

Your asking about finding answers through introspection.

You ask yourself questions and write what comes to mind without thinking about it.

Then you question that answer. Then rinse and repeat until you come across a statement that feels right.

Keep it as a reminder, when you need it or it no longer is true for you.

Disclaimer: as you grow as a person you change, and so will the answers and questions. Until the day it no longer becomes necessary.

Never done it because I am always saying what I think and reverse psychology to me personally means screwing with peoples minds and my motto is BS in produces BS out!

Can you give me an example that is good?

I have the tendency to rebel against rules. Like a child.

So say that i told myself not to do it. The stronger the command, the more likely I screw up.

Told myself, "Don't be late." I end up being late.

Told myself, "He is a jackass." Then believes he's not.

So if I say, "Take your time," I may have hopes to actually stop being too relaxed and get on with things.

"Everything will be fine" then act like things are not fine (give more attention)

I tried it to my student, actually. She didnt want to study, just play. So, I encourage her to play. Soon, after a short time of play, she starts saying, "I want to study." That's the opposite to what I usually did which was to say its not time to play, but to study seriously and we had a hard time together.
