Is incest the cause?

Fred West was a mass-murderer and mass-rapist from Gloucester, England, who once caught, hung himself awaiting trial. His wife, Rosemary West was equally depraved, and also commited rapes, torture and murder.

Both of them had been raping their own daughter for many years before killing her.

Rosemary was a prostitute, with her husbands approval ... one of her regular customers being her own father.

She is now serving life in prison, and he is dead .... however, when investigated into this case, it was discovered that both Fred and Rose were victims of incest growing up.


And now I wonder .... what part does incest play in a person becoming an extreme sexual deviant, and even a serial killer?

Is a child being forced to have sex fuck up their head so bad, that thier perception is severly slanted to the point of not having a conscience any longer?

Maybe so ... maybe the way a child gets through it is by voiding themselves of a conscience so they don't go mad.

Of course not, not everyone that is raped turns out like that!!!! Glad he hung himself, she should have done the same.

Wow. But, looking at characteristics of most serial killers, exposure to sexual acts at a young age is very common and that's bound to do some sort of emotional damage that can be acted out some point down the line, D/K. I think it would make them even more damaged when the person doing it to them is a blood relative because it's someone you trust completely & not a stranger to be suspicious of. That belief that there's goodness in the world gets destroyed because the one who should protect you, violated you, so what else is there to care for?

I always wondered why people who have been raped or molested at a young age always turn out to be VERY sexual as adults. A girl I grew up with was raped daily by her uncle growing up, now she has seven kids by seven men (one of the fathers is 15 or 16) and there's no stopping her when it comes to sex. She sleeps with anything that can get IT hard, even hobo looking men. It's sad really.

That's an interesting way to look at it, dimplez. Going through something like that would turn me off sex or even men in general. In other words, power was taken throu sex, so it should be regained the same way? In their heads, I mean. Its a strange way of 'getting back' IMO, but I'm not in those shoes, so I cant really understand.

Not all people who are victims of incest turn out to be horrible human beings. I know this for a fact. If anything they may not be able to have a normal relationship because they may have trust issues. Some people are strong others are not and still others use this as a reason they do other bad things as adults. However, I do know that some are very sexual in a healthy way later on in life. Does this sexual appetite stem from what happened to them in their earlier years? Who knows...
