Sun conjunct chiron?

In my synastry with a guy we have my Chiron (cancer) conjunct his Sun (cancer) to the exact degree, 17.25. I've found a lot of stuff about the sun person being healed of their past wounds by the chiron person in this instance. Can anyone else shed any light on this aspect?
