Celibacy

Anyone or any couples practicing celibacy? If so, what's your reasoning and experience? I've decided to go celibate to renew my mind (a lot of anger, insecurities, wrong thinking on what makes a relationship...).Im 33 by the way with 2 kids from ex husband.

Nothing wrong with celibacy. The art of self-control is a good one to practice.

Sure am. What is the rush..

Totally makes sense imo. You can get a clearer view of relationships and where they may be going without getting yourself or them distracted by the sex. Currently thinking a man that truly loves you will stick by you without the sex.

I was in a relationship where he asked me to practice celibacy with him. He too, had anger issues with masturbation and held tight to morality through following a religious doctrine.

My experience was great. It built up other parts of our friendship that would have otherwise been spent making love. I learned so much from that man.


Mind if I ask what kind of anger you're experiencing? How you came to the conclusion that celibacy was the best way?

My anger mostly comes from disappointment. Meeting guys that wasn't worth the time. I came to this conclusion because I believe I found the one. He's the most beautiful man I've ever met, both inside and out. But I ruined it with my insecurities, bad temper... Well I wouldn't say ruined it cus he's still around. But he wanted to marry me and I pushed him away. I've decided I'm no goo until I heal and mature

I'm celibate. I really believe that if someone loves me they're going to want to stick with me despite the sex life we have. Being celibate helps to get your priorities straight i.e., "this issue matters more than me sleeping with him does." ...it teaches self control, too. LOTS of self control.

I'm glad you're choosing to be celibate while you sort the problems and thoughts you're having out... It'll help. Try yoga and meditation as well, it'll lessen your anger as it deepens your habit of inner reflection.

I'm a Gemini and I've been celibate for like 4 years. Surprise, surprise since we get the promiscuous label. I only have sex in committed relationships because I have to trust you to have sex with you. Sometimes I think like "eh, I probably should have just had sex with those people" and then remind myself that what I'm doing is for the better because I get attached after sex and at this point in my life I really have to work on and focus on myself and my health. Anxiety is a bitch.

I get attached after sex also....only great sex.Which for me as an Aries is hard to find because I'm all about intense intimacy

I was celibate for several year after my divorce. I wanted to 'work on me'.

I seriously regret all that wasted time I could have been getting laid and meeting men compatible with me and having fun experiences.



Yah, i don't really recommend it from personal experience.
I am currently doing both me, and men, and I am much much more satisfied with life in general
