Dating

I had never dated before until this year and I am already more than bored of it! It seems pretty big in America (unless its just all the films exagerating it!) But in England when I was younger no one ever dated, people just seemed to get together and get to know eachother along the way. I was shocked at the Idea of dating more than one person regularly.

I have always had relationships with people that I have known for a while, my friends, people who hung out with the same groups of friends as me, friends brothers, that kind of thing. So this is a whole new concept for me and I really dont like it. When I was first single I was quite excited about the thought of being able to go out with different people everynight, even have people pay for me 😛 but it all seemed much more fun in my head lol. Just wondering do any of you actually enjoy dating and what is it you like/dislike about it?

I think dating is the worst thing we do to each other. Really. I do. I love a relationship but getting there. Ugh. The whole uncertainty of it .... some people love the thrill of the chase. Not me though.

I don't know about movies or how others feel but I personally do not like it. I have friends on dating sites and the stories are so horrifying that I rather just sit back, be open to meeting new people, and let nature do what it does. I believe in fate.

All my past exes, I met through mutual friends or work or work friends or anything related. The idea of meeting a complete stranger on a dating site or going to dinner to talk and get to know someone one-on-one seems so awkward and fake to me. I rather invite the guy to hang out with me and my friends first before doing the one-on-one thing. Or if my friends are trying to set me up (which I hate too, I feel pressured lol), I always tell them "LET'S" all hang out and we'll see what happens.

My way has worked fine and I've never had a problem meeting people or finding a boyfriend. I think I'll keep it like that. 🙂

You are still young. It gets harder when you get older and people pair off more, get together less.

Dating = Torture

I fucking HATE dating. I hate everything about it. The pretense, the uncertainty, the whole getting to know you process...it's draining, and frustrating, and sometimes it takes so long to get to know someone only to find out that they're not what you're looking for, which just plain sucks.

Add me to the column of people who would rather just jump straight into the relationship phase.

When I was younger, I didn't mind dating either. Like Cappy, I enjoyed the challenge of getting someone hooked, and once they were, I didn't want them anymore. Maybe that's why my dating life has more or less sucked now that I'm a smidge older and wiser - karma's the biggest bitch you ever did see. GOD, I hate dating. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! >😭

I can see your point when it comes to dating lol. I don't know, I do it when I'm in the mood and when I'm not, then my friends call me all things equaling a stick-in-the-mud or a shrew 😛

Honestly, some people don't know how to date, I think it should be thought in school how to do it. Hey, if they have Home Economics, just as well wrap dating in there too, but that's my opinion -- education in all aspects of life is golden to me 🙂

I don't really like the beginning stage and dating more than one. I feel detached from both guys and tired and annoyed of the process. I like when I know who is better for me and seeing only him and getting to know him, then dating becomes fun for me. Maybe you will like it better once you get more familiar with someone and form more of a bond with them.
