sag sun, Taurus moon, scorpio venus

hey yalls.. so i have a question for all of you guys (romantic in nature of course). There is a guy I'm interested in, with the above signs. I myself am a sag sun, aries moon, and scorpio venus female. thing is, until now, ive gotten pretty good at tempering my aries moon (ive got a lot of cap and scorpio as well so it aint too hard lol) but this guy drives my aries moon up the wall. ive known him for 6 months now, and hes finally starting to act like he likes me, but its just enough that it gets all my hopes up but not enough be absolutely sure.... plus i feel like his signs make for an excellent combination of the most slow moving, least communicative and most scared to commit sort of behavior. But at this point, he has already admitted he has a connection with me that he has never had with anyone else before (to a friend, not to me), he gets VERY territorial if other men try to talk to me, and hes taking me on all these cute trips and outings, some of them very long adventure trips very far removed from civilization.. and oh. lets not forget staring at me from across any room we are ever in, so obviously that people notice.

basically my question is this. Does it seem like he may be coming around? is it worth tempering out my impatient aries moon for him (i mean, romantically; ill always stay his friend, hes too special to me) and how can i make him more comfortable as hes trying to figure things out? He and i both tried dating other people, but we kind of just keep coming back to each other in this weird "soulmate" and "partner in crime" sort of way, even though nothing entirely and definitively romantic has happened yet...

Im also concerned because he starts to open up, but when i catch wind of that, i tend to get all closed off and weird because i like the guy so damn much and then i feel like neither of us know how to act, and he closes up again. any suggestions—

I guess what I'm asking here is... With his Taurus moon, should i back off and give him space? or try to just keep acting like a close friend? I know being particularly aggressive about my feelings doesn't work (tried to ask him to hang out on V-day and i got TOTALLY shot down, even though other invites to hang out (which felt rather date-ish) were VERY well accepted...
