Sometimes, we take some of the strangest turns on the long and winding road of life.
You know... Those old "Well, hello there"s I hear, now and then, that fall on my ears, are but preludes to
yet another song in the back of my mind.
I guess if I ever duetted with Willie, I'd just let his guitar sing my lines.

Heh he, ok, will do my best, Gemini. 🙂

A tall Latte comin' up, CC.

Right now I have been enjoying a simple single serving of what I call Firebird's French Connection.
French Vanilla Ice Cream.
4 Tbs Starbuck's Dark French Roast.
Prepared, using my French Press.

Now.... IF I had a French girl with me, I'd give her a sweet French Kiss, now, wouldn't I?

Yes, for sure! So go find nice lady and give that Scorpio heart away🙂

I might add, that is my personal opinion that the above BUNN Model, is the best "drip" type coffee maker for
commercial production of coffee, en masse. It is the king of the hill for that method.
However, the drip types, while convenient, cannot match a percolator without the wasteful use of grounds.
Among percolators, the now antiquated stove-top variants of the modern marvel is superior to the electrified
variant of the percolator. Superior in that it does not depend on electricity to get the job done and it is suitable
for gourmet brewing.

The French ??afeti?re ?? piston, aka "French Press" is quite a remarkable design in it's simplicity. All that is needed
is pure water of temperature of around 100 deg. Boiling water in a pot or tea kettle assures that the temperature is
reached, as soon as the water boils, it can be removed from the flame and once the boiling stops, it can then be
poured onto the grounds in the press wait a few minutes and press. I personally prefer to stir during this time
as it is conducive to extracting the oils from the grounds. Just wash the press when finished. Certainly a masterpiece
in engineering a simple device which operates without much fuss.

Never thought much about those energy drinks. Back when, it was either coffee, a coke or iced tea with a lemon. That's it.
I think companies like Monster, Red Bull, and that new gadget thing they call 5 hour energy are all bad news.
A beverage should be enjoyed, not something for the sole sake of getting your body loaded with caffeine.
But what do I know.

Oh and Hi Venusianbull!, haven't seen you in a while. Hope all's well.

And hello Intrigued, how goes it??

Oh yes... about the woman spiking the starbucks. I haven't personally heard that story, but
to be honest, ANY product on the market can get spiked. Thing is we can choose to be afraid
of everything or accept the fact there ARE hazards everywhere we go. I choose to do the latter
as I know that there are a million ways to get sick or die.
One person may catch pneumonia, another get hit by a truck or a car or train, another may die
in airplane crash, another can drown in a pool or in their own vomit... that happened to Jimi Hendrix.
Point is, don't be afraid of one thing and think that everything else is safe nor be afraid of everything
else.
It's alright to feel suspicious and listen to your gut, but don't let everything you hear scare you into
seclusion.
Remember, one can catch STDs sleeping around. A jogger can trip on a turtle and break his own neck.

This kinda reminds me of the truckstop cafes - Sometimes I'd sit for hours waiting for a load and drivers
would come and go. Sometimes a deep discussion would start by one group of drivers and end with another group
of drivers.

I hate it when my coffee tastes bitter. Ugh. And I'm too lazy to make another pot.

Sign of the day to come?

Good Morning Scorp Board!

Good Morning Intrigued, may I recommend a "Chambord" French Press??

It DOES make a fabulous cup of coffee. They come in several sizes a small 2 cupper upwards to about 34 oz.
or 4 8oz and change, cups. I like the small 12-14 oz model in that I can focus my attention on the cup
rather than the pot. As a result, I can work with greater precision in dialing in the right amount of grounds.
Viola! Gourmet coffee every cup in the morning.

Of course, it is NOT everyone's cup o'tea,
Between my Press, my stove top Percolator Urn and a run of the mill dripper, I have concluded of the three, the dripper makes
a great ice tea decanter. The Chambord is tops in efficiency and getting that first gourmet cup made, with an
excellent smooth taste. The Urn, while a "workaholic", as it were, is excellent in that, unlike the Chambord,
it can be allowed to perk the grounds within it's steamy sauna for different lengths of time,
rather than drown the grounds at temperature short of boiling as would be the case of the Chambord.
In my experience, BOTH the Chambord and the Urn are top shelf tools of the trade for brewing fine dark Arabica coffee.

By the way, for those of you who may not know, blending dark with light grounds, can yield a most satisfying taste.
I personally have not tried this technique, but a personal friend swears by it and I KNOW he can make excellent coffee.
A good coffee blender, he is.
