Confusing Scorpio Male

Hello.
I would appreciate some help understanding the dynamic present. I will try to be concise and to the point. If you need any more information I will be transparent with that.

I met this Scorpio at an Open mic (also a musician). We saw each other a few times out - he always approached me. Finally he asked and offered to record my EP since I don't have any recordings. I was very ...sceptical at first. Wanting to know his intentions. Finally I met with him and we discussed it. After we recorded the first song I felt comfortable, and confident in his talent enough to move through. I do not feel comfortable not paying him, as he has requested.

He's quite hard to read. A part of me is wondering if he at some point had interest in me or what his motives are. I think he likes my music, but I don't gather that he loves it. That has left me perplexed. At first, attempting to get my attention he was liking all of my social media posts. Now that I'm recording with him he doesn't, but mentions some of the things I've posted letting me know he does pay attention.

I was appreciative of him because he seemed to keep his word until today... He promised to get the track to me yesterday but did not. I fb messaged him some music I thought he would like. He has been online but has not clicked on the message.

So- I'm just trying to figure out
A) What are his motives
B ) What's with the hot cold
C) Does he have feelings that extend beyond the interest in my music
