i'm moving house again. same country this time. i've always moved around alot since i was a kid, but for the first time, i feel quite depressed/anxious/resistant to it and i don't know why. i know i will miss my best friend who will go from being a 5 minute drive away to being 2 hours drive away. she's not even in the country to say goodbye to at the moment so we've been skyping depressed exchanges instead. apart from her though, and the gorgeousness of the scenery and the sweetness of the spanish locals, there's nothing else that i really like about the place and so i don't understand why i feel weird this time.
perhaps it's because where i'm moving to is so different? it's actually frighteningly civilised and sophisticated and i've been on a mountain top for 5 years where there is often no running water or electricity supply for days on end. in my new house, i will be able to boil a kettle and have the tv on without the whole house shorting!!
how do you feel about moving home or change in general? i always seem to change from one extreme to another, making them feel like massive transformations. i know this is meant to be a scorpio strength so perhaps it is my virgo rising that gives me the little edge of fear about all this?
I love the idea of a new and different environment! I'm always up for something new.
Problem is, I get really attached to the place from where I leave. And then I get sad whenever I think about the people or places or incidents that remind me of my former home.
i have romany gypsy blood apparently. ancestors in eastern europe. [btw, they are the subjects of ethnic cleansing tactics in italy right now.]
my chart is quite full of indications of a need move around alot and as i said, it's never really bothered me before now. i would hate to live anywhere for too long. but then, my parents and siblings are all the same. i have two young kids to think about and perhaps i have doubts about how it affects their security. most of the people i know who grew up in different countries to where they were born said the experience was really cool but if it's all you ever know, as long as you were happy, you're gonna say that aren't you?
i actually hated moving around when i was a kid. it rocked me to the core everytime but i think my kids are closer to me than my parents were so hopefully they will have a happy experience of it all.
thinking aloud. moving on wednesday morning and currently sitting in an empty house 😢
a whole day for packing? i have now spent the two weeks solid, packing. most of it is furniture, clothes and various gaming technologies but we also have alot of musical equipment like amps, guitars, keyboards and even a full drum kit to cart around everywhere too!!
my new neighbour is a finnish man who is mature in years and lives alone.
i'm a snake slayer. they're on the roads here all the time and i crush 'em. i leave the lizards alone cos they're cute and not slithery with a bad rep like snakes are.
emgem: i'm scared of heights. i'm sure i would be a total wuss although i have an image of being in a hot air balloon, over the serengeti with my grace kelly scarf and sunglasses on which i fear is not a realistic fantasy. i would be bent double over the basket vomiting on everything below in reality.
lizards are cute SR. they have ickle bickle beady eyes and they eat all the horrible insects. they have a purpose and they have character. snakes just don't. the only sensible thing that was in the bible was that snakes were considered evil. all that god business is a load of crap of course 🙂
emgem: that's ok. i AM a midget. or a gidget apparently, which is the female version. i played a munchkin in the school production of 'the wizard of oz'.
fuckina: i agree completely. i have had hamsters in the past but they are so pointless and i feel sorry for them on that infernal wheel cos they have the natural instinct to travel miles for food and they don't have the space. it's cruel.
i like the idea of exotic birds and small primates but i wouldn't even consider owning them as pets. apparently, parrots are supposed to enter YOUR life in the natural order of things and that's happened to a few people here in spain. i would welcome a parrot definately.
i have my two pooches. they don't classify as dogs really. they're more like living accessories.
but as for snakes. i think i shall now call emgem, EMOGEM.
without guys like that, we would have less understanding of the creatures we share our planet with. he was great for educating kids too. compelling to watch and fascinated and passionate himself. a real icon imo.
emgem: yeah, another indication that i am a mine of useless information LOL!!!
another useless fact is that goldfish have the shortest memory span of any creature. that is why they are happy to live in tiny bowls. after one circuit, they've forgotten the view already!!
which is why i liked the idea of that revolving apartment block in dubai - cos i am similar to a goldfish.
i hate being parted with stuff. i have a satellite dish the size of the moon which was taken from the side of my house here and it is now propped up on the roof terrace of the new house waiting for realignment. all my engerlish and american channels come to me via that dish and it cost an arm and a leg. until i see it works again, i shall remain anxious.
i hope my connection is better when i move cos i can't keep up with you all. what are we talking about here? moving house, snakes, hot air balloons, furry animals or jesse jackson!
for some reason sky (the company that i get the telly from) only does the big big dishes. you can get minidishes but you can't get all my favourite channels on those.
cable is available where i'm moving to but only for spanish channels and i don't know if you've ever watched spanish telly but, it aint too stimulating, let's put it that way.
i like engerlish chat shows in particular cos they're allowed to swear and be as disgusting as they like after 9pm and the american guests get really into it LOL!!!
spanish telly is all about 'eye acting'. they don't talk much but their eyes say it all. accomplished spanish actors include eyebrow movement to give more depth to their performance LOL! ::eyes shift from side to side::
flip-flop: didn't you know that when an aries has an opinion it is always the right one? if you realise that fact, it's easier to get on with them LOL!!
