How should I tell a Scorpio man how I'm feeling?

So we met a year ago thru his sister..we never really were in a relationship but I talked alot..then he stings me..gets rid of me..fast forward a few months of speaking and he finds me on a dating app. Adament that he was sorry for things he had done and said...odd thing I know but he mentions being roommates and I agree..at first he was all he thinks he could love me and that he wants to take care of my daughter and I. He would drop hints like my sister calls you my wife...or say something like I got to trust you..all still acting as if "we are just roommates" ...one day he says he can't be in a relationship that he will just hurt me. To this day 5 months after those words I still feel he wants me..we spend all our free time together fishing, watching movies at home...he flirts...plays love songs for me that I should listen to on the way to work...little stuff...and always buying me stuff like he was thinking of me. Matter of fact gave me a worn ring that had an engraving on it that reads "I am always thinking about you" said he found it and it doesn't fit lol. And I do try to show it...I'm pretty sure I do. When I mention something remotely emotional or try to say that I don't want to be roommate.he gets angry and we are roommates...its very discerning trying to figure out how too handle my feelings...or finally say hey I know I said we were either just roommates or not...but it's because I wanted more...not the opposite...

Btw I'm a Sagittarius sun and a Scorpio moon myself ..he is very sugary sweet most of the time, worries about me, my finances and I feel like he wants to be with me that way...but idk if I should trust my gut or not...recently he stayed asking me if I found a boyfriend yet and things of that nature...
