She doesn't make sense to you because you took her words literally. She was being sarcastic with the love potion comment. She also mentioned her daughter to make reference of how incredibly stubborn fixed signs can be and NOT want to heed advice that is being given directly and without snarkiness.
From the Op's previous posts, it is fairly obvious that somewhere at the back of her mind she still wants to hold on to this man, despite many people telling her not to and instead focus on her child.
