this sistah did it for herself!!

i had a high speed blowout this morning. well, actually it wasn't cos i have a rented skoda which is not capable of high speed even when pedal is to the metal...but it sounded better that it was high speed...call it poetic licence.

so yeah, i was actually going quite slowly when there was a gap between tracks on my superloud ipod and i became aware of a really loud thrashy rubbery sound. it was a pretty bad puncture and i was still in the middle of nowhere about 2 miles away from my apartment.

and so for the first time ever, ever, EVER......I CHANGED A TYRE ALL ON MY BYSELF!

so obviously, i'm a naturally gifted mechanic and have submitted my resume to the ferrari f1 race team for consideration for a position on their pit crew.

usually, if something happens with my car, i stand by it crying crocodile tears whilst trying to look alluring and that usually does the trick. this time, the option was not available to me.

any other female mechanical experts out there? is this a scorpio thing? LOL

got sooooo dirty and i was wearing faded grey jeans. furthermore, i suffered 3 broken fingernails and my thumbnail is hanging by a thread to the nail bed. but it felt gooooooooood.

bit concerned i didn't tighten the nuts enough and that i might lose the tyre at some stage. next time i will imagine they belong to the knobhead and the strength will come 😛

Hahaha way to go, girl.!! I did it once with the help of my teenage son, but still was a good feeling of accomplishment.

Three broken nails, though? 😢 Go treat yourself to a mani/pedi, that sux.
