Waga, what is important to women is the acknowledgment of their b-day, not the gift. A lot of people will tell you don't have to get them anything for their birthday, in fact MOST people say this. However, to completely ignore it sends the message that you don't care, that she's not on your mind. It doesn't have to be a gift, but taking her to do something, a nice card, a picnic....something like that. Be creative.
