Things you heard of..

I often find classic literature in charity shops

So the other day I saw "Dr Zhivago" - of course I have heard the name many many times but never actually stopped to wonder what it was - it's a love story, not my usual choice of book but I like to at least try and read these famous books so I have started

I find it strange how names and terms are often well known to us yet actually we hear them without knowing what they are

Can you think of books or movies or other things that you have heard of many times but don't actually know what they are?

Like Game of Thrones - never seen it and I guess it is about power struggles between different kingdoms in a fantasy land? (I've seen dragons lol)

The hadron collider - A scientific facility where they collide particles with each other, for some reason? 🤣

I have many of those but to name a few examples: To kill a mocking bird, It's a beautiful life, Great Gatsby...

I didn't like To kill a mockingbird, I found it quite boring

"Dr Zhivago" is overrated. If there was no vibe around it (I mean the Soviet ban), it was not be so famous.

It also was made into a movie.

I don't know what the fuck this thread is all about first time coming across it but heck I don't know. I've heard of a lot of things in my lifetime I didn't even bother to read the op and don't intend to but I know this is GeminiJim plus I'm a little bit tipsy so I feel at this time I can troll the fuck out of him

Babylon - not sure what it is

There is nothing I've heard of that I don't instantly have a deep understanding of. Not saying I'm always right, but if I heard of it and have even a simple sentence of what it is I can instantly dissect it, and view the deeper meaning of what it truly is. That is one of my super powers. I can bypass all the shallow/ fake information and see every single little thing at it's core. Because of that I've never seen or heard about something in this world I don't understand.
