-Aspects of the Sagittarian Rising People-

i had been trying to figure out why i innately do some of the things that i do, since i don't seem to freely act like my sun sign, taurus, for a lot of the time.

then while i was dissecting the issue, i decided to post a few tid bits that i found about my rising sign, sagittarius, that i found more insightful and interesting.

SAGITTARIUS: A BEAM OF DIRECTED, FOCUSED LIGHT
In this the point of light becomes the beam, revealing a greater light ahead and illuminating the way to the center of the light.

When Sagittarius rises in the natal chart, a person has reached the stage or preparation through which a new vision of oneself emerges out of the conflicts of Scorpio. The mountain peak of initiation in Capricorn has been sighted, but the mountain has yet to be climbed. It is through Sagittarius that we find the Path up that mountain into the Light of the Soul. Sagittarius exemplifies the struggle each person has to undergo in order to free himself from the limitations of the personal life, and thus encounter the more expansive, spiritual reality of the Higher Self. One of the fundamental purposes of an incarnation with Sagittarius rising is for the individual to orient himself to some lofty objective, one which will unfold a higher goal and a consciously directed life orientation towards its achievement. This is the real meaning of the arrow, the glyph that is used to represent this sign. The arrow points to the target and that target is the unity of a Soul-centered life.

A person with Sagittarius rising is devoted to his aims and to the realization of his inner truth. He undertakes his journeys and adventures in order that these subjective realities may be fulfilled in his outer life through a concrete form of expression. Jupiter, the traditional ruler of this sign gives Sagittarius the urge for expansive experiences but it is the Earth, the esoteric ruler of this sign that commands. The Earth requires that one?s ideals and dreams be concretized and made practical. Service is not only an idealistic vision. that happens to me sometimes -- it's just too bad that i can't be like this ALL the time.

haha well.. your mannerisms should come off naturally to you, even though you may feel as though you've got two ways to go. i have a lot of energy and stamina, so i would often times ponder about whether or not i should let it all out (and scare everyone lol) or if i should just take the other road and calm down a bit.. =p


but overall, you shouldn't think too hard about how you're supposed to act -- you should just live your life by embracing the effect that you have in this world. be yourself by solely focusing on yourself and your aspirations, before you even begin to worry about others. you can't be happy in the long run if you end up lying to your own heart, as well as the ppl around you.


and remember that sagittarian risings look for ways to express themselves -- that's supposed to be an extremely important thing for them. find something that you'd devote yourself to that you'd enjoy, if you haven't already. for me, i've been playing the piano since i was a little girl, and i've enjoyed singing every since i can remember (taurus in mercury). so basically, writing and singing songs is my form of expression, even though i haven't really performed for anyone yet becuz i'm such a perfectionist, that i take forever until i actually feel satisfied about my own work (that is, if that ever DOES happen) lol.


but anywhoo, i have an adequate number of pros and cons towards having a sagittarian ascendant. it's easy for me to get ppl to smile and i get a lot of attention for it -- but i can also feel trapped when too many responsibilities are put on me. it's like, i can't really fulfill every single person's demands, becuz that would mean that i wouldn't have enough time for myself. i love my alone time, but my friends often get disappointed when i leave them high and dry (but not in YOUR definition of "high and dry" lol) to explore my own. i usually get surprised when they ask me, "where did you go?!" or, did you get our calls??" and would wonder what all the fuss was about.. haha. but yeah, it's kinda bad that i would STILL get surprised if that were to happen again lol, but i guess that's just a tsk tsk on my part..... haha.


but the thing is, i love freedom to the max -- whether it be freedom of living or freedom of expression. and that's also a key factor to a sagittarian ascendant. all they basically need is to know that they have the freedom to do what they want. i don't even have to really do all the things that there are to do in theis world -- just simply KNOWING that i have the option to makes me more happy than anyone else would know.


(this is probably why i suffer when i'm under my parents' roof. i love living on my own SO MUCH that i wouldn't mind going to school forever! lol but that's also becuz learning is a fun thing for me, too; so i wouldn't mind keeping myself affectively busy by doing something that i like.)


btw, what sign is your jupiter in? since your rising is in sagittarius, your jupiter would tell you how you would come off as a sagittarius rising. i'm only asking you becuz not all sagittarian ascendants come off in the same way; it varies with your jupiter (sagittarius's ruling planet). mine is in aries, so i come off as an aggressively enthusiastic person -- however, my moon (cancer) and mercury (taurus) softens that up a little. but yeah, there are generally many quiet or more reserved sagittarian risings, too.

Sagittarius Rising

but i don't think that pluto has much to do with your ascendant's influence, though. astrologers don't use pluto for scorpio rising becuz it probably has little to no affect.
