Im upset at the lack of appreciateion for one of the greatest american singer song writers and story tellers. Long islands own and one od the great taurus' of modern day. Billy fucking Joel...

I haven't noticed a lack of appreciation, but idk how that could happen with a classic like this.

Mmhmm, hes a baymen, ans this is his friends boat. Hes just one of the faceless hooded fisherman.

But thebsong really speaks to me. Especially the line "there aint no island left for islanders like me"

Baymen is a dying career...but im a baymans daughter so i ubderstabd the plight.

That is really fascinating! I've always thought it would be cool to work a job like that or on a boat in general. It's unfortunate it's a dying career, but it's cool you can call yourself a baymans daughter. And I hope you can speak to your father in the future.

I run karaoke and i can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that billy joel love reigns supreme.

While I respect him, most of his music is too mainstream for my liking. There's also a Broadway-esque flavour to a lot of his music and I despise anything that reminds me of a Broadway musical...

I agree. I like him, he's part of my life but his music is very theatrical
