dont know if its much help but im a gem sun with cancer venus and to answer your 3 questions

look for in a partner: sensitive, protective (in a subtle way), understanding, affectionate, loving & definately LOYAL

how do you show you like someone? (this may vary between males and females) but for me i will be somewhat subtle about it if i REALLY like them i'll be shy around them, will make sure im on my best behaviour (to make good impressions), i wont flirt too much i'll be somewhat more "stand-ofish" and wait for them to make a move or make it known they like me, and if i show them it will be in little gestures like, i'll make sure everything you want and need is taken care of, i'll take it upon myself to make sure your okay and you have everything you want/need (do my best to get it for u) but i wont try TOO hard because i dont want to blow my cover that i like you, i'll offer and want to cook for u (to show that i can care and cater for you), i'll be affectionate (ONLY after you've shown some signs your also interested)... biggest fear is rejection so i wont put myself out there fully until i am sure over and over of your feelings for me first.

your last question... not really i wouldnt be scared well i would BUT id get over it if you showed interested directly and then pulled back (went silent) for a few days... it would make me wonder and then chase you and carry on from there. I dont know if this is venus in cancer thing but im always weary when people come on too strong or tell me they like me because i dont trust easily AT ALL and i always think there are ulterior motives behind their feelings or what they are telling me etc..
