Taurus Male acting different PLEASE help

Ive been dating I guess you can say this guy for a month now. We click like crazy. Been seeing each other every weekend since. Spent Valentine's weekend with him and it was perfect up until I had to leave. I all of a sudden start to cry. Hes just been so amazing to be around and hes been great to me and calls me cute names ALL the time but I was sad I guess about having to leave that and go back home. We live about 40-50 mins away. Well he hugged me so tight and consoled me. Well I guess since then things been a little different. Almost kind of dry. He did tell me that my crying overwehlmed him and even questioned that if/when we got together if thats how itd be. I sometimes show crying as my frustration. I explained it to him and he said ok he understood and we're good. But something just still seems a little off. Usually we talk back to back to back ALL day but since the incident our convos die off after a little. I'm thinking about just backing off a little to give him space and I guess allow him to miss me or realize the change in our communication or the flame somewhat dimming. Would giving him space be wise ? Would he bounce back ?

One more thing, i asked if wed seen each other this coming weekend and he said he thinks we need time apart, to give each other a chance to miss each other and we also have friends. See I guess weekends for us are better bc were both off. Seeing each other during the week might be a little complicated even seeing how were not in a relationship yet. I guess I just took it wrong bc it made me feel like he wasnt pressed to see me and that we'd have to wait 2 weeks before seeing each other again. Since that talk yesterday morning things been a little different. Maybe I should give him space and let him approach me ?
