Very nice paintings! ...u r really gifted ...and if in addition this hobby makes u get rid of stress and routine it's wonderful. I never tried ... though I might...maybe I'm gifted too...
YAY YAY YAY YAY!!
*chicken dance*
Now I'm going to look closer at them... wow.. those pics are small, ya tease! :p
Actually.. you're INCREDIBLY talented, Sid. That's more than a "passable ability" you've got there.
I'm amused by your trademark initials... the S and P... See.. my birth initials are TSP... and my "initial trademark" is rather like yours.. only with the top of the T sticking out.. looks like a long T with an S through it.. until you realize it also forms the P. Very cool π

Aren't they "clickable"? I can click them and it opens a window on imageshack... is that just cause they are my pictures?
And thank you both for the kind words. I know it's cause they are mine but when I look at them all I see are the parts where I messed up. Every flaw stands out so bad to me, damn my being a perfectionist.
Thank you though.
LOL I'm the same way *raising hand*. I use acrylics. Fabric paint too, make t's and other. I tend to think something needs just...one...more...thing. Then it's too much.
Oh goodness, here's a stool I painted for my Mother. I should take more pics of what I do, usually I just paint and give them as gifts or 'just because I want too.' π
And signs I do for the front door entrance..Halloween and Christmas..
Underneath it says "Merry Christmas.. SAME OLD CRAP!"
*dragging toe* Might draw childrens coloring books..mebbe. LOL π
Thanks aPP! π
Thank you for the tip Star, I'll do that when I haul it out of storage. π
Wow Sid, very good paintings!!! I likey!
@ VB--Is there anything you are NOT good at? lol π
@aPP--I have looked at your drawings and you definitely have some great talent too!
I dabble in painting but I am also better at drawing/sketching.
All of you keep it up b/c I want to see more!!!!
π
LOL Thanks lady, but goodness I'm not great. Oh I should take photos of my mothers work. Her art BREATHES. It's amazing. I wish I had the talent in her little finger.
π
I really like that santa card.
Thanks everyone.
I like your stuff too LibraSid, I've never tried anything huge on a canvas. What mediums do you use?
I use mineral spirits or some thicker smelly stuff to thin out the paint. That's the medium right?
I did take art in college but just to fill credit hours. I don't know the terms. I don't know the "right way" to do any of this stuff. I don't know the difference between brushes. Oh and I paint on wet paint... evidently you aren't supposed to do that?
But it's fun anyway π

Oils then with a floating medium? I don't think art is the 'right way' personally, I think it's what moves you as you put brush to canvas. Wood, fabric, clay, whatever calls to you. I like your art. π
Thanks Mystic, I painted the huge archways in her bathroom too, garden walls of brick with climbing roses and butterflies flitting all about. π
Thanks for sharing LibraSid. Very inspiring....I also enjoy painting and working with my hands. I find it to be relaxing. I'm really into shapes too. One of my favorite things to do is paint pictures of the things that are important to me on glass bathroom tiles that I purchase from Home Depot. I also write alot too.
Libra Sid....
Good stuff.
I hope you are still painting.
And do us a favor and post more pictures of your work.
Here's to your next moment of inspiration.
Luv paintings and art π

I have a little easel set up in the corner of my bedroom near a windiw to my open back yard. Some times went the weather is nice I'll set it up on the back porch. Over the fence I have a whole lot of country viewing. Which for you city folk translates into a whole lot of nothing.
I am not a great painter, but my ex liked them enough to hang them up around the house.
This is one of my favorites.
I also paint the sides of the canvas where it wraps the wood. That way I don't have to buy frames. The paint wraps around and catches my eye from the sides.
I told Nefer that'd I post some pics of my paintings one day so here they are.
This is one of the first ones I did. It was several years ago, I really don't like this one.
This one was a project in one of my college art classes. Hooray for elective credit hours. It made for an easy senior year with three painting classes. I don't really like this one either.
This one is a little over a year ago... it's okay.
I have one hanging in my office at work too. I really like that one but don't have a picture of it.
What do you
Yes...painting is very therapeutic & relaxing. When I paint I just get lost for hours into it... π
I havent been able to paint for a while but here are some drawing i did.
The first two are charcoal.
This one was done by erasing. I used a piece of charcoal to darken the whole paper the erased to bring out the image.
This was just drawn normal. It was a nightie my ex had hanging on the corner of a standing mirror in our room.
This is just pencil. It was drawn from a picture I took on a trip to WA state.
