Do you think it's rude when someone asks you how much you paid for your vacation? Do you consider it to be similar to someone asking you how much money you make on your job or how much you paid for your home? Even if it is sort of like a close friend? If so, how would you respond?
DISCUSSING THE PRICE OF YOUR VACATION?
Posted by TwinGoat
No, I wouldn't be offended. I ask and I tell. I mean I keep out the overall cost but things like plane and hotel costs are OK to advise about. I appreciate people who give me a ballpark and I like returning the favor.
Home and job: no. esp. job. Its not for you to know if I could afford it. It's for you to know if you can afford it.
Thanks TG. That was very helpful. I actually asked some other people and they said just about the same thing that you did which is to pretty much give a ballpark in reference to air & land. It's just that I have a few very nosey people in my life who always want to know what I pay for my vacations and I don't want to come across as snobbish but I don't want to divulge every financial detail. I'll keep it 'gray' by just giving a range. Thanks again!
