I'd also recommend Pommes Frites (just go for the small, you'll be plenty fed). Also Fiore's Pizza on Bleecker, seriously one of the best! Just get out your Yelp app wherever you are and look at the ratings of the places around you, won't go wrong with that.
Otherwise, just hit the museums, wander around the Village, take the Staten Island Ferry, see the Highline, and above all: take a good camera and just enjoy!
