My Virgo ex basically hated himself and he made it aware through some of his comments. We were friends first and he opened up to me a little bit. He was in a very dark place and saw so many flaws within himself. I happen to be a very positive person and I think that's why he loved me. He really wanted a relationship because I brought happiness to his life. He would say he didn't know how he got me. That made me feel bad that he thought that way.
But yea, they can overlook their own flaws if they like someone. Especially if someone shows them love and support despite of those flaws.
They'll always know their flaws, but in my experience his flaws never stopped him from pursuing me and us being in a relationship.
My virgo bf has been feeling very unsatisfied eith life and after getting him to open up to me he said he was rethinking everything; family, friends, life, and relationships. I worried because I don't want to break up with him and he said he didn't want to either but he wasn't sure why he was feeling so unsatisfied. I'm glad I studied his zodiac because I remembered virgos love perfection and mentioned it. He said that might be the reason why he was feeling that way, I've shown him a lot of support about opening up and starting to accept everyone's flaws even his own because no one is perfect. I think he's going to try, yesterday our texting was a little strained but he joked a little last night before bed. I can't see him every day so texting is what we mainly do.

Him losing his job can be a huge turn in his emotions. My Virgo ex was unemployed the whole time we were together. We met in a tech program that was 6 months. After the program he was applying to jobs basically every day for 5 months. He was SO stressed and depressed because of it. Almost suicidal.
Work and especially making money is extremely important to Virgos. Like obsessive in a way where even though they are putting in effort to find something, they feel totally inadequate no matter what until they finally get the job.
Be positive support to him and reassure him on his efforts.
I asked him how his job hunt was going but he wasn't exactly thrilled by it. I try to support him and keep him happy like I took him out to a movie and dinner. He really enjoyed that, I'll stick around and support and if he decides that we just aren't meant to be then okay. Even though he has said that he doesn't want to break up, he's just thinking about all his relationships and life. I hope he isn't suicidal, he hasn't shown any signs that he is but then again I haven't seen him in person in over a week. So far all is okay with him, I know once he finds a job things will get better.
Like a lot of people mentioned, although I definitely notice flaws or imperfections in everything and everyone, it's not the criterial I use to choose relationships.
From what i'm reading, it seems less that your bf is reacting to your imperfections, and more that he is reacting to what he sees as "his own imperfections."
I struggle with my own flaws way way more than other peoples' flaws. Not much you can do about it though, other than sticking it out, and showing him that you're loyal and worth keeping 🙂

i do notice everything about people and analyze it bc thats how i am and its an intriguing process for me. i dont make biggie out of it nor judge them for it. its more of a detail-orientation thing to me. I'm big on acceptance.
I love imperfections and flaws, it usually what attract me to people in the first place and no, not because i want to fix them.

There's no description of perfect. It's just how we'd like to see things unfold perfectly...with no issues involved. But life happens.
