Candeh,

No offense, but I think part of this difference of opinion is Generational...

Us older DXPers are not as comfortable with online socializing as the younger crowd - I know I kinda look at it as a small community of real people -- sorta like neighbors...

I wouldn't pull the shit on my neighbors that happens on DXP; whereas, you young folks are much more casual about this crazy shit...

Just my View.

No, it's cool Dy. I can empathize with you. I just felt the whole, "he's fake, she's fake" was getting a little rumors on the bathroom kind of silly.

There has just been a lot of mudslinging lately and we're at a point where it's like, "who is correct?"

Well, if I harbored those sorts of thoughts that EVERYONE here is on a fake profile/fake character, I could maybe agree to agree with you. But because I don't harbor those sorts of thoughts, actually, to the contrary that there ARE real profiles/real characters on this site, check me off in the Agree to Disagree column. 🙂

Personally I don't believe a lot of that either, I just wanted to diffuse things a little bit lol. I feel most people I speak to on here are real, and honestly, I have this weird mindset that if one person is a fake, he/she is doing a pretty damn good job of twisting everyone around lol. But, I can understand why some people are getting upset, offended, ect.

Candeh, you missed the bonfire on here 5 years ago that happened when "Beguiling" (aka LIB, et al, as far as I'm concerned) snowballed a couple of us. She was Beguiling, all right! You know, when you show up on a forum and ask the natives some down-to-earth, homespun advice on dealing with your Virgo situation, and they go above and beyond the call of duty, so to speak, and take the time to hone in on your situation, spend a good deal of time discussing it with you, then you want to privately email them about it b/c the issue's so personal you don't want it hitting the Board, and your expressing a whole spectrum of anxiety, fears, joys, ups and downs, and they're trying to let you "see through a Virgo's eyes" out of the goodness of their heart in a sincere effort to offer you some helpful insight, and then one of them suddenly discovers that everything you've told them for two solid months is on another web site from a year ago and that everything you've told them from the moment they met you is a preposterous lie (two months' worth?!) . . . well . . . it's enough to leave one spinning and "distrusting" everyone on the Board and wondering why on earth he ever bothered trying to "help" anyone . . . which sort of defeats the entire purpose of even being here. None of us is on here as a lay psychologist, but some of us are earnestly sharing our opinions in the hope that the questioning might be aided, facilitated, or at least broadened in their perspective. It's what we do. (As Virgos, as you would know.) To be utterly taken advantage of for that length of time and crudely snowballed is so unspeakably crass of the phony and mind-boggling to the innocent.

Clearly, we know not to "trust" anyone on the Internet, but like Dy said, we're "old school." We don't do that to people! Just what's the point of going to forums and fabricating entire sagas to delude helpful people?? So an old "trusted" DXP vet (VGM) takes leave of absence, comes back as L*I*B, and pulls off behaviors similar to that of Beguiling after she was exposed on here—essentially exposing herself in the process as being an all-out fluke. To be completely snowballed for 2 months is one thing. To be lied to for 1-2 (or 5!) years by a total impostor is another. For this reason, we feel the need to "warn" the newbs and, if nothing else, out the fake so they don't string up someone else! (You might say it calls to our sense of Virgilante Justice! 🙂) Might seem trivial/silly to some. But let it happen to you just once.

We neighborly old-timers don't feel so blas? about it! 😉
