I've got to say, I really hate when people generalize both the male and female of a sign under one description. It just doesn't apply. There are females of certain sun signs that I absolutely adore, but their male sign representations are like...*cat hiss*, and vice-versa.

Do you feel the general descriptions of your sun sign are more for the males? Do you feel they're a bit too harsh to describe you?

Can you give some examples (if you have any) of the differences between the male and female of your sun sign, in your own eyes?

One thing I really hate is the whole "cold and unemotional" description of Virgos.

I'm sorry, if that's the way the males are, that's on them.

I do NOT know even ONE cold and/or unemotional Virgal--if anything, they're OVERemotional. The Virgals I know, myself included, are so doting and cuddly, and snugglekins like when we like you--we're just drawn to you, and love being around you. You make us smile/laugh, and we're ready to talk and coddle/be coddled.

Not to say we're easy prey--not at all, we're still on gaurd, but I think the male Virgos are a much tougher nut to crack--I just think it's the whole "be a man/stiff upper lip" thing that applies to ALL signs of the gender.

I find Virgo women a lot more inclined to "live life", go out, travel, enjoy life.

I think people find us "cold" because we are no non sense people, but the women are indeed, quite different from the men.

I find Virgo women are more likely to make... odd or impractical choices from a Virgo man point of view.
As Shaks used to point out, they are also keen on using a lot more words to say the same thing a Virgo man would say in 1 or 2 sentences.

Male and Female signs differ greatly.
Libra men are players and the Women are train wrecks.
Scorpio men can be skilled womanisers and the women are oft overly shy.

Air men tend to be chauvinist and form the archetype for "manly" male.
Air women tend to present the most female image but are more fickle.

Fire men are the more romantic and passionate type.
Fire women are fun loving, donkey punching, tomboyish and playful spirits.

Water men are hap hazard and try hard to not show their weakness.
Water women are motherly and moody beyond belief.

Earth men are goal oriented, strong silent types.
Earth women are assertive and aggressive, materialistic.

Virgo women are quite pretty with nice eyes, chatty, charming and quite polite. They dress elegantly and appear to carry themselves well ie walking with purpose. However i find them bossey, at times loud.

As for Virgo men - They appear tall and wirey with a head that's too large. Below average in looks but dresses neatly. I have found they hardly talk, look cold and insensitive - its the calculating eyes. Fidget alot and talk very fast in short witty burst. I generally don't like to wear primary bold colours and sit in the background hoping not to get notice.

Yes I do think there's a difference

I agree to you VV...we come across as cold because we dont trust easily but it doesnt mean that we are Mean or snobbish..we are just aware of getting fooled..we need to know the person first by staring at them while talking and analyzing all words coming out from their mouth if they are telling the truth or not..some people says they cant talk to me face to face because i stare at them with straight face like there is something wrong on their face...lol!!

You crack me 24thDecan LOL "FAWCK YOU"..but I agree with what you've said

Besides that it is true, (CLCNY30) we are far from being cold and unemotional.. unless we are confronted with a situation that doesn't seem right. Especially if we do Not trust someone or put in a Very awkward situation that does not seem right (Bad vibe, feeling). All in all... as a virgal I am all smiles and love to enjoy a good laugh and company. It just has to be Right though, good mood vibe setting. And yes, I can be very loud lol.. and enjoy making other people smile & laugh. It's all sparkles and good time :-)

Growing up, my stepfather (an August Virgo) used to try to push me into astrology, which is why I rebuked the hell out of it until I was old enough to interpret it on my own, lol; I don't let others think for me, I'll always approach something on my own, with an open-mind, or I won't approach it at all.

Anyways, he tried to school me on how Virgos "should be", and my 8 or 10 or 12-year-old self would be rolling her eyes, back turned of course, because a mocked Virgo is not a pretty sight, LOL!

My mother (a Taurus) was a clean freak, and made it my duty to be woman of the house when she wasn't home. I didn't want that crap put on me, I wanted to be a kid; sleep in on Saturday mornings and watch cartoons, talk on the phone with my friends, not clean up the house from top to bottom from sunrise to sunset on the weekends, wtf?! So as I got older (and closer to her height and strength) I started to rebel by having a messy room. It wasn't messy to the point where creepy crawlies were dwelling under decaying food, but clothes were strewn about, papers, books, whatever. My stepfather would lecture me on Virgos not being messy, and telling me I was going against the grain, I would shrug and just throw more sheit onto the pile, LOL.

He'd also go into how we're all healthfreaks and how I should be taking care of my health more. I'm sorry, but are KitKats, and Snickers bars not dairy? Please someone tell me if they're not, because if they are, then I was bowing down quite HEAVILY to the basic food group gods, so what was his issue— LOL.

That's just it, I never saw the sign in as strict a manner as he did--maybe the males were more prone to these rigid guidelines? I'm sorry, but even today--now that I've moved out on my own, I'm not a neatfreak Virgo. Oh, don't get me wron, I clean everyday--at least a little, but my place is far from squeaky clean. And I still bow down to the KitKat gods, and have added the Caramello god to their kingdom--sheit, just had my physical--blood sugar, normal/blood pressure, normal/cholesterol LOW! (O_O) I was actually told I need to be eating more grains and nuts! I was like "WHAT? Aren't those the foods people are told to avoid?!"

So yeah, I don't feel I fit into the unyielding descriptions of the sign of Virgo and am quick to tell anyone trying to TELL me about myself because they think they know my sign they know me to kiss my ass. You only know what you THINK you know, now go saddown somewhere.

Hey pv. The reserved standoffish nature is part of our basic make-up but deep down we're really not snobs. We're self contained folk who like to stand apart so that we can first size up our surroundings and go from there. For us, everything is about self protection and since we're basically serious folk, it's just the way our face falls because we usually have something on our minds.

Yes, but we have generalizations for a reason...no? I understand that people don't like to be generalized but the basic blue print is there. Why then are we gathering here on the Virgo board (or the entire dxp for that matter) to talk of being Virgos and to discuss our similarities/traits? No, not every two Virgos are exactly the same but if you are a believer in astrology, then obviously you believe that people born at a certain time of the year all share a basic personality profile.

But just as there is the color blue, there are different hues: Air Force blue, Alice blue, Azure, Baby blue, Bleu de France, Bondi blue, Brandeis blue, Cambridge Blue, Carolina blue, etc.

Each has a diff. contrast that might be classified as blue, some with more of a green hue, some with more of a purple hue...it's just not self-explanatory enough to say "blue", if you get me?

I think it goes beyond Sun sign really....everyone has an individual chart. I have an "Earth element" as a Sun sign but my chart has more air than earth. Check my profile.

Air. Fire. Earth. Water. In that order. I have like 5% water LOL so unemotional is true about the Cap description. I can be assertive and determined like it's nobody's business but sometimes my moon does make me waver a bit. See what I'm saying.

And anyway, people are always going to have an opinion - whether good or bad. You are who you are.

🙂

Right and that pretty much goes without saying because we speak of individual charts here all of the time hence my reason for saying that no two Virgos are exactly alike. Depending on the individual chart, A person from any sign can display characteristics that are quite atypical to their basic sun sign nature but that doesn't mean that the basic formula isn't still there...at least for many.

Oh of course I get you and that's where the individual chart comes in as well as life experiences etc, but at the end of the day what is it that still makes us all Virgos?

Same thing goes for the Latin community. All Puertoricans are the same. All Dominicans are the same. All Cubans are the same.

False.

Or when men say "All women are the same"....or when we say "All men are the same"....

False. Maybe true for the men. LOL I kid I kid. 😉

LMFAO!

I don't know if this will make sense or not, but I think it's deeper than zodiac/astrology--I think it's more about the time of year we were born--I don't know, I see that Leos I know love to be outdoors a lot and are big, bold, and bright, like summer--stuff like that.

No, I understand. Most Leos I know are bright, sunny, warm and happy...is that a generalization? Is it the bad or unflattering generalizations that we don't like? Do you get what I mean, C?

Shit, as a Virgal I've heard it all. Bitchy, constantly on pms, bossy, rude, loud, annoying, obnoxious, petty, cold, harsh, boring, a prude, arrogant, snobby, argumentative, flaky, game player etc. Shit, the list goes on and on for the unflattering side and while some may hold true, I know the positives that I have to offer as well so I take what applies to me and throw the rest away and if I feel like something unflattering applies to me, I try (I said try...LOL) to work on it.

But sometimes we come across as innocent or i should say more often than being aloof? that make people think they can easily fool us.but they get surprised or shocked when they got a chance to know us because they never even expected that we can go deeper and we can tap them in any length regarding everything/anything...have you ever experienced this, people will say to you "WOW" & make them think like they got a wrong/right (depends to the situation)pal or gal?
