My beloved Scorp & I had an interesting conversation one night last week. It started out about our dating days, and wound around to how she decided I was The One. Of course, she couldn't explain her motivations - she just knew it in her heart...
Well, I let her know that, my love for her aside, I had a whole internal calculus with many factors that led me to decide she was The One for me. Like: Her sons were grown; she was ready to make some big changes in her life; she liked to drive (commuting wasn't a big issue for her); et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...
She asks how I can be so cold. I reply that I'm merely being practical. She says I could bore the romance out of Romeo & Juliet. I remind her they both died, but had they been more practical, they might have lived a long & happy life together...
