Hmm...well as a Leo man currently involved with a Virgo woman, I will say (from a sun sign bias point of view-excluding, heritage, creed, society, culture, past experiences, psychological make up, dna,etc, etc) that it is difficult.
Leo's are passionate and from what I know of myself as well as some other Leo friends of mine, we wear our passions and our emotions on our sleeve. Virgo's do not. Virgo's are very sensitive but keep their emotions to themselves-their sentiments are expressed but in a detached and matter-of-fact sort of way. Virgo's(not all-just from my experiences...) tend to be very critical. This habit can be really dangerous to Leo's. Although strong and proud and at times arrogant, we are extremely susceptible to criticism. A Virgo has the tools to reduce our proud "lion-ness" to a mere wounded house cat in one or two swipes of their verbal swords(which are ALWAYS sharp and ready to cut).
If you cross a Virgo woman be prepared. Instead of fearing this trait I took the time to find out why my Virgo mate developed this trait. I wont get into it but the root is based in childhood trauma. With this understanding I gained patience(something Leo's need to develop) and respect.
Beneath the critical exterior my Virgo has a soft vulnerable side that deeply wishes to be cared for and understood. Its just not shown to all, all of the time. Whereas it seems Leo types are less reluctant to show their true colors(which is the same call for caring and understanding).
Communication is trying at times-Leo comes from the heart, Virgo comes from the mind. Both need to make effort to create the "click".
The bedroom is a different story(let me remind you this is my experience). From what I know Leo's are masters in the bedroom(remember we love praise right?) And as earthly as Virgos are, they like to be impressed(an earthly experience). There I have experienced the softer, more intimate side of my Virgo. Intimate communication without words(my Virgo woman has the easy ability to verbally communicate her mind but not her heart ). Needless to say-the love making is incredible.
So I guess in short the Virgo/Leo combination is difficult but if both parties put in efforts to learn the communication of the other and put ego aside a bit, a very harmonious union can be developed.

and as for why Virgos find Leos attractive...cause we are. sexyness just tends to flow from our pores--even the "not-so-goodlooking" big cats.
also I think Virgos look at Leos and part of their soul can remember them. remember what it felt like to be that "way". I think I read somewhere that we cycle through the sun signs as we die and rebirth. so all Virgos used to be Leos, Leos used to be Cancers, Cancers used to be Geminis, and so on...
