Which i'm actually not reading heavy journal that those psychiatrists do anyway. Just some books for everybody even those who aren't doing nothing in the field.
And i totally have been talking with a friend , and he's a psychiatrist and ask him bunches things that i don't fully understand.
I'm reading it and asking the expert about things that i need to know cause i'm a caregiver. And i want to understand more about whats goin on and how to deal with it, so i dig lots of infos.
Yet he told me as if i'm trying to be an expert for reading those. Like, really?

what's next? is going to tell you whom you may or may not talk to?

And how i feel sad for that but i'm glad he's all free now and got back to college and i'm so impressed by his talent in art.

Those weird words came out from him right quick.
He debated everything i said, which in other way validating my point but somehow he made it like his thoughts and opinions are one step better ahead.
I tried to still all calm. But he yelled then.
And in the end he was the one who quit the talk cause he doesn't want to "argue". Like huh?
Then few mins after he tried to ask me for some sexy time. I think it's time to drop his ass indeed.

Posted by tizianiCould be that. When i told him about another genius person who has a severe mental disorder, he said that he has seen the same thing when he was a kid. When i asked him to tell me more about that, he said that it's unecessary and he doesn't wanna talk about it.
Maybe it just dug up some bad memories for him. Psychology is very sketchy ground but you know your interest in it is genuine, so no point walking on eggshells around him or anyone who has their own problems with it.

i have only had one experience with this kind of attitude - it was high-level insecurity on his part ...he would ridicule my books and everything i associate with reading. needless to say that chapter was over in a jiffy.
have you tried talking about this with him? although, i sense he would be defiant and dismissive about it ....

There's a way to go away defusing the situation by being the example of chill you want to see in the other person and I think you know that much. Psychology is a touchy subject and rightfully so. Without the basic understanding and knowledge, whatever you read is going to be taken and learned wrong.
