which ascendant has

an "I dgaf" attitude? like kinda self-absorbed, seeimingly rough around the edges... like nonchalant mostly. held together. a rugged persona! I'm trying to pin someone's rising down & I can't quite tell! my guess is... I don't know, scorpio? maybe capricorn? I have no clue! if you had to vote for an ascending sign that could be called the most "rugged", which would you pick?

can a leo rising be reserved? every leo description spells out drama, attention, warmth, etc. he is warm (and melodramatic) but VERY private. he never gives out enough personal info, or rather, only gives out so much at a time. I watch him when we're around other people and he is very business-like. he always knows what to say and is a great diplomat with people. I love it when he starts the talking in awkward situations because, even though he can be nervous too, he knows how to reach a point with people. he's brave and also incredibly good at being honest & trustworthy. most people think he is rather serious and quiet, but I think that's only because he never gives much of himself away. I guess he can sometimes be called distant or standoffish... if he doens't like you he will NOT try!

he is a virgo sun... either a leo or cancer moon, depending on the hour I don't know, with mercury & venus in leo and mars in libra. big ego, but lots of self-doubt sometimes!

I guess I would say Cap Rising considering those details. We're generally reserved; look calm, cool, and collected on the outside; but it's usually just a facade. Especially in our younger years, we suffer from low self-esteem and are our own worst critics.

Personally, I do most of the things you described of him, such as have that "idgaf" attitude when I need to... it's not a matter of trying to be an asshole or a fake badass, but it's a form of self-protection for us, if you will... just like sarcasm. Business-like... well, if that doesn't scream Cap Rising, then I don't know what does, lol. Yes, and I tend to be the initiator in groups if no one else is willing to be - the cardinal aspect of Capricorn. Otherwise, I'm fine with someone who is more of a natural leader taking the reigns. A lot of what you described in your latest posts resonate with me, so maybe you've got your answer.

The reserved nature sounds like his Virgo is shining thru.

Yeah, Leo rising can be brash, loud, caring and drama filled, BUT that can be contained... I think it all has to do with the other parts of your chart. I'm a pisces sun, Taurus moon and venus and a leo rising and leo mars. So, I'm pretty much emotional, but I keep it to myself. I can get pissed easily, but the Taurus in me keeps it reigned in. My actions are very much wrapped up in pride, BUT I don't go around waiving it around like a flag, like a normal Leo would. I don't boast about myself... I'm very modest.

If he has tons of fire in him then I would say he would need a earth sign to calm him down, but since you said he is a virgo... virgo's REALLY don't open up. If they do it is a bit at a time. Aquas in my experience will tell you everything they want to flat out and never reveal what they don't want to. Virgo's you need to earn their trust and they will give you a bit sized morsel about their inner-self as a reward. Virgo's are pretty darn serious people (they know how to have fun, but they behave like they have some darn sense). Virgos can seem distant and/or standoffish because they are in their heads, like aquas... those two are VERY intellectual signs. Have a serious conversation with either sign... they will blow your mind. Awesome signs.

The honest and trust worthy portion screams Virgo... they def have these traits. Also with Virgos... how do I say this... if they don't care about you they are indifferent to you as a person. You're not in their inner-circle, hence you are of no concern in their world. They like people sure, but you're not going to affect their life in any manner (this trait is also Aquas).

The brave factor, I'm thinking Leo again...Leo's know how to protect their pride... but this could also be Taurus.

Of course, what I just posted is what I have observed/researched on these signs. Does this apply to everyone in this sign? Of course not!

IMO him being a Virgo... I wouldn't be shocked if he had a Leo rising or an earth rising. I'm leaning towards Leo though... I could be wrong... wouldn't be the first time. lol

thank you for the feedback everyone! I appreciate you all taking the time to give me your input on the subject. I hate to say it but *sigh* I'm really torn now! with all these pieces, my mind may just be making the puzzle fit! I really would like to get to the bottom of it and I see dxp as my only option, seeing as how when I asked him if he knew his birth time he asked why & proceeded to look at me funny & laugh! he persistently suggested I ask his mom because she's the one with his birth certificate... but I don't think I'm quite ready to be that awkward yet, am I?

I will say this much, because I understand the ascendant has something to do with your appearance one way or another, whether that's true I don't know but... this guy is very tall & thin and I mean *thin*. he got it from his mother who is a virgo as well. but he has strength you wouldn't believe for his lanky frame and arm muscles that are very well defined. he is a worker bee! if he couldn't work with his hands in some way (build/take things apart) he would be bored & miserable. of course he loves to laze around, but only for a little while. he yearns to be appreciated and respected, and dreams of having enough money to buy the world. he has dark hair and big saucer eyes that at first glance seem rather harsh and dark. by dark I mean there is a seriousness to them, one that's almost carved out of hardship and gloom. it's the kind of seriousness captured in old photographs of a man who never smiles; hard, tired eyes. of course, once you look into them a little deeper you notice that they aren't very dark at all, and usually there's a cheerful light inside of them like a fire hidden in a cave. everything surrounding the glow of the embers is pitch black and frightening. you don't quite always know what's there & you can get lost if you try looking on your own. but feed the fire with love and attention & it grows so that you can see it everyday, peaking through the gloom. if that makes sense lol! some adjectives to describe him just off the top of my head-- masculine, clever, smart-ass, insensitive, bossy, independent, responsible, methodical, perfectionist (duh), polite, cordial, hardworking, loyal, lackadaisical/somewhat lazy, playful, melodramatic, romantic, finicky, petty, reclusive, capricious, domineering, opinionated, sarcastic & goofy.

he is proud and thinks for himself but let's a lot of people walk all over him unintentionally in the workplace specifically speaking, and also among his family. his sister is a scorpio and she makes him go out of his way for her quite often, very expectantly, while he doesn't expect much from anyone, especially his family (because he knows they won't deliver like he would). I don't think he means to be this way, but he just gives off that vibe... he's honest & hardworking and throughout his life I have seen many people take advantage of this. & boy does he hold a grudge against the world about it! his favorite theme is, "I can never have anything nice!" which kills me because if anyone deserves the best it's him!

last thing, I think there's a strong saturn influence in his chart, which is why I'm leaning towards a capricorn rising. his life has always been a struggle, ever since he was a child. he has experienced many setbacks and approaches life with a very let-down, "don't expect it to get better by itself" attitude...? definitely not a glass half-full guy lol but I really cherish him.

Capricorn would be a good guess. They are known for their distant nonchalance. I even read a description once that Capricorn may frustrate Scorpios more openly emotionally passionate nature, but that the upside is that the Capricorn is very tolerant of Scorpios outbursts and emo meltdowns because of this "dgaf" attitude.

Other guesses might be a Virgo rising who is secretly bothered but too modest or polite to show it.

I have thought it over in a lot of detail... lol. we have nearly the exact same temperament, and I have an earth sign rising. so I'm assuming he does too? we get along really well on a sort of vibe-level of our own. unless his rising is a well-harnessed fire sign (which, how the hell is that possible, that a leo moon, venus, mercury AND rising would all be tightly controlled by a virgo sun alone & be "aloof?") or in space-age aquarius that gets along with my pisces sun and moon? I just have a hard time believing so...

It's not a silly question at all. Rugged persona couldn't be Cap rising. Cap and Virgo rising usually have refine appearance. Aqua is not refine but not rugged, they are more in the middle.

My guess based on your description would be Sagittarius rising.

I'm Aquarius rising and I'm pretty lad back and have a dgaf attitude. I do care about some thing though.
