Ascendant influence...

Can you tell how your ascendant influences your life? Do you actually see the characteristics in yourself? If so how?

For myself, sometimes I feel my rising sign showing itself in my interactions with others. The most immediate example I can give as a scorp rising is that I catch myself locking steady and repeated gazes with particular people from across rooms. My eyes are very curious and I can't help but people watch. If I find a person to be particularly interesting to watch... I'll just keep looking at them. It's not any sort of physical, sexual or romantic sort of curiosity. It could be that I think they look like someone I know. 75% of the time, my staring ends in conversation. Possibly flirting... and lo... I'm in trouble. And people say all the time that I can be very intimidating... it's always surprising to hear that. So weird.

I have Sag. rising and I can be clumsy with what I say. As a Virgo I am shy initially but if the other person is friendly then I can overreact and reveal things about myself that are maybe too personal and cause embarrassment/alienate people I think. Also I would say that I was born into a more-than-averagely religious environment which (maybe with Saturn in 1st house) has caused a lot of feelings of sin and guilt.

I definitely feel my Ascendant shining through...when I'm mad about anything...I immediately go into "warrior goddess" mode. I also have no filter for the things I say...they just come out like word vomit sometimes. I rush headfirst into whatever comes my way which as a Virgo sun I don't think I would do without such a fiery Ascendant.

I'm a leo asc ,well suppose to be. But I am somewhat of a show off. I'm laughing when I say this ,cause when I'm thinking of a show off that's someone that's bad in my eyes, anyway I like things,like jewelry and acessories. Cute things that catch people eyes. I like when I walk in a room and people say where u get this and that from. Sometimes not a lot cause I'm a cancer and I very shy,I like when other stare at me like they are amaze or attracted to my style . I sometimes feel like I being watch when I'm not,I also look around to see who watching me. Or my eyes wander around like I'm on stage and I don't have shit to say.weird,OMG can't believe I'm admitting this shit. I dnt no if this have to do with my asc but I always focus on my appearances but never on others. I would alway check myself for flaws and actually be hard on myself but never see my self the way I see other .I actually can find beauty into anyone but caution on myself carrying mirrows and my makeup bag.

With aging Gemini Ascendant is beggining to show off more.

The BULL side my Taurus Asc comes through majorly* for me when it comes to consistent physical strength & stamina i need on a daily basis. This is a toughy Ascendant with a lot of healthy chops - i've never had a sick (working day) in my entire life and very rarely* get sick. I can dig my stubborn bull hooves in when i truly* believe in something; it's hard for me to budge. I have a pretty consistent nature.. I can be slowly persuaded at times, but never unduly pushed, the bull pushes right back.

The VENUS side of my earthy T-Riser comes through by having a highly sensual (5+ senses), appreciative eye for beauty in "ALL" its guises - venus nicely aspects soulful neptune. I'm also a BIG sucker for comfort, class and quality in ALL things.. And true to this rising, i DO hate when i lose, break, or something (MY stuff) wears out, doesn't work right..lol!

On the other side, i can have a very patient, calming, comforting aura-influence on others..x

So a real nice, strong (effective) Riser (sextiling) my piscean sun..

The older I get, the more Aqua I seem. *nods*

Virgo sun, Aries rising.

I've noticed it can be both positive/negative.

Sag rising here. I can be so blunt that I shock and horrify myself. I'm honestly just saying exactly what I'm thinking or what I've observed, but it can be entirely unnecessary.lol

I have to say that the older more life experience I obtain I get more into my rising. I actually prefer being around people and being flighty, goofy and thoughtful and then flip to wanting desperately to be alone...my rising is in Aqua.

another thing about my scorp rising... my scorp has said numerous times that i should not use my sex so much, not literal physical sex... but just my sex appeal. and i seriously SRSLY never mean to if that's what's going on. and he says sometimes that i give off the impression that i'm lusty. it's so funny to hear that because i think of myself as everything BUT sexy. i feel like i come off asexually and could afford to try being sexiER! so it's a little bewildering to hear it from him and others. shocking even.

@SL and Nem... same for the intimidation in the work place for me. could be my cap sun too, but i think of myself as a pretty pleasant and really good/easy person to work with. can-do type and WILL-do. so when i get people using passive aggressive antics with me and feel slight animosity or (and this has happened unfortunately...) found out that people have lied about me in my work... it just blows my mind, because i do nothing to deserve it and it's clear to me that it comes from feeling that i'm a threat.

fortunately i've won over a couple of these people. they have my back now... it's a win for everyone and i think they finally realized that.

I have Leo rising, and it's weird. A few people have told me that upon first meeting me, they thought I was just ~*so*~ sophisticated and almost regal. And oh god. This isn't how I see myself at all. Haha 🙂

But yeah, I also feel like I have to put my Leo mask on so people won't be able to see my weaknesses. Maybe it works both ways.

Honestly!! And by the way, your last post resonated with me and I've experienced those things too, perhaps unconsciously. I start to wonder where it's all coming from, the animosity and such, but I guess we just act as objects for people to project their projections onto. Life is weird!

hello! I have a Capricorn/Aquarius cusp sun with a Pisces rising. The ascendant alters the way I am more than any other sign in my chart... capricorns and aquarians are known for concealing their emotions but I'm not one to do so

hard to say with a pisces moon where the sensitivity is coming from 😛 i think they just compound on each other, but most of it is def pisces moon. i'm hyper sensitive. sometimes i feel more of what other people are feeling than i am of what i'm actually feeling. it's rough, lemme tell ya. the cap sun and scorp rising, i think, help me contain it better.

now that i think about it... this could be one of the reasons why i often feel desperate for "me" time.

Leo Ascendant has a strong constitution.

They have a personal magnetism that makes them stand out. Whether it is their charisma or their appearance, they never fail to make an impression. That ^^^^^^^^^^ is so true. My self-awareness is so acute that I practically have another me, watching me, observing me. I can see/know everything I do/say, and exactly how others percieve me.

It's uncanny, really.

But, this isn't like me at all ...

They are naturally enthusiastic and get excited about new projects. They make excellent promoters and spokespersons. Leo Ascendant is very demonstrative, and they like drama and grand gestures. They will do anything to get admiration.

They are very concerned with their appearance and how they behave in public. They like to dress in a youthful manner, and their bearing is strong with a sense of authority. They can pull all this off because they are just big kids at heart. This Ascendant is warm, generous and fun to be around.

^^^ I'm not any of those things. Definitely not a good spokesperson, and I'm the opposite of wanting to be admired. Though, I'm quite generous, it would be safe to assume that the giving/sharing part of me doesn't come off warm.

P-Angel... I can see how that translates to your dxp persona. most people that i know who are very self aware are also outwardly aware and morally shrewd ...taking from their own first hand emotional experience.

Cancer rising. Well, it is true that I am more of the stay-at-home type. Whether it'd be at my place or someone elses. I usually get along well with new people, though my Cap sun interferes with that initially. Still the shy, not-so-talkative-does-not-engage-in-small-talk - type. But once I warm up it is ok. I get protective of and defend people close to me. Also I somehow always find a connection and something to talk about with strangers/new acquaintences. I once read somewhere that folks with Cancer rising have, due to their ability to relate to others, a potential to become successfull in fields of nursing, social work, etc. Which for me is so not true. That is the least thing I would like to do profesionally and cannot imagine myself doing *at all*. brr...

As for the looks. I look more Cancerian than Capricorn. I am def not tall and lean/slender, what is commonly asssociated. I am of medium height and tend towards the more cushioned side, with a slender face though.

Leo rising... I have hair. Voila.

I am a gemini-cancer cusp (moon also in cancer) with libra rising. In certain ways I am a lot like my Libra rising, I try to stay harmonious and make everyone happy, which comes off as being fake. Lately I have been trying to work on that and be a bit more opinionated (possibly my decan trying to shine through?). I have also always tried to stayed composed, wear outfits that flow together and are on the nicer side, when I was younger my step-sister used to make fun of me because even my pajamas were color coordinated. The way I look depends on where I am weight wise, I tend to fluctuate with size but no matter what my body stays proportionate. When I am at a good and healthy weight my face is heart shaped, but when I gain weight my face gets round, like a moon.

Im aquarius rising and the first impression of people about me is always "eccentric, weirdo and distant" 🙂

I believe my Libra rising shines through when meeting people. They think I come off fair in discussions; I seem like an evened-out person, charming and they think I'm confident in my appearance. I can and do find beauty in pretty much anyone; it's in the eye of the beholder. It isn't until later on, especially when feelings come into play or a tasteless joke perhaps, that my Cancer Sun comes crawls out. I get insecure and worry about alot of things; emotionally, I bruise easily.

Also, my Sun squares with my Asc. Not entirely sure what that means; sounds rough though. I have 5 other planets that aspect to Ascendant as well.

I'm aquarius rising, supposedly a charming friendly piece, but people tells me that my stare and eyes are one of the most scariest and intimidating things from me, but all I do is to squeeze them because light hurts them a little lol

my Leo rising came out today. I was grumpy already, didn't get enough sleep and these two bitches were walking their dogs as I was walking mine and they had 1 with no leash and it ran across the big street just to climb up my leg so I had to pick mine up and was telling them about leash laws and one of these whores said she didn't know me, she didn't have to listen to me and I was like you better listen because animal control will be called by the neighbors. She said go ahead and call Bitch! And the other one started yelling in spanish and throwing in the B word.

Libra rising.

This is 100% me...

I think the following seem to fit Gemini rising:

1. I have an almost involuntary tendency to finish people's sentences for them if they pause too long. Some people love it, but many find it annoying.

2. People often have trouble believing I need help with an intellectual problem when I ask for it, because I somehow end up using and understanding some very advanced concepts I gathered from quick research. They think I'm trolling/joking, or just being lazy.

3. I tend to use my hands a lot when I speak, and I can't easily hide my emotional reactions (the latter may be due to Mercury in Pisces).

4. I can almost always remember the random piece of trivia other people are looking up on their smartphones during a conversation, or at least find it before they do.

5. People who aren't verbally adroit or who tend to be secretive often complain that I tend to "corner" them verbally. As in, they always feel like I've seen through them due to my understanding language and context too well for them to "get away" unnoticed.

I got the most annoying/deceiving rising sign EVER!
All the "Gold Diggers" chase me. But my REAL NATURE trolls them very badly.

Because I reject to worship money. 🙂

Between that and my Leo sun and I look like a complete dominator. People at work usually get threatened easily by it.

I am one and it depends on what kind of attention... Considering work - something that I put my hard work, brain, creativity - then yes I like attention. I like it in love also - cause I am extremely giving and I like to give attention to the one I love - so I flip if I am being ignored, it offends me. I like attention when speaking...Interruption irritates me.

I don't consider myself a showoff. In fact, people told me I am modest and why do I hide some talents I have, stuff like that. Also in company of others, I don't like to be in a center of attention, I like to be the one aside and act as I want to. Clothing/jewelry - less is more tbh., don't like the eyes scanning me.

My Leo rising shows half the time, sometimes when speaking, other times when just playing around, joking. Some say Leos have a big heart, well I might not but it sure does sound appealing, therefore I warm up to others that have big hearts. Oh and perfume and looking nice too, very appealing. I'm a Cap so usually reserved but for all that reservedness there's a slight tilt toward being unreserved and loud at times.

I have aqua rising...tbt its a pain in the azz. People who dont know me: "God! Shes an insensitive careless heartbreaker, who thinks shes all that!" when in reality i GENUINELY dont care and am just minding my own bussiness. People who know me: "too nice for her own good, sweet and most caring person ever."

Sag rising.

I don't even know what to say, life is an endless string of foot-in-the-mouth disease. I ain't ever going to get that cured and my Aries Moon/Mars doesn't help.

The Sag ascendant is part of my Sag stellium. I love stories..I have a lot of stories from my life but I love relating to others and hearing their paths in life. It's fascinating to me.

This is why the Fox needs to experience Romanian cuisine...as a Sag ascendant also 😄

I feel like my rising sign more than my sun sign. (Gemini ASC, capricorn sun) I talk too much and i always have something to say. I'm loud and weird. the only thing I'm good at is talking (i'm crap at relationships, time management, etc.) I love debating and am very intellectual. I feel different every day and every time i look in the mirror i see a different person which i'm assuming is a gemini thing lol. I'm nervous and fidgety. perpetually persuading. I think my capricorn comes in when it comes to my field (molecular biology), I can study for hours and it just excites me. The same with math. I'm a difficult person to be around and friends with because I'm irritating but not in a conventional way. I need to be around silly, lighthearted people, such as Aries, Sagittarius, and other fellow Gemini lol. I also like these people because we just have similar ways of going about friendships like when people get too close to me it weirds me out and I LOVE aries people because we can share things about ourselves and be best friends but they understand my need for detachment and that it doesn't mean i don't care about them.
My cancer mom hates me and is irritated by me because she says I don't think before i talk and i leave stuff everywhere. LMAO.

Libra rising.

This is 100% me...

This says Libra Rising communicates with people by being charming. I can't say that's accuate for me, I come off as being rude if anything, and I definitely don't try to come off as a charming person.
However, yes, it's extremely accurate that I just avoid social situations if I can. I'm very solitary, less so than before (when I would get aggressive if I was given the order to work with others) but still.

I'm absolutely not stylish. I wear the same (dirty-looking because old) clothes all the time and I'm definitely not a "relationship" person. I'm absolutely not social at all, and I'm very unwilling to accept people in my life.
I also don't feel like I like people more than they like me, but then there are few people I actually like.

Another thing I agree with is ignoring something because I can't find out how to deal with it properly. Well, I used to do that anyway.

I don't feel very influenced by my Libra Rising. Well, it's not entirely accurate, and the parts that are accurate are very much so, but otherwise not all of it applies to me, I believe.

TL;DR
I'm a Libra rising. I isolate myself a lot, that much is true, but I don't feel the same regarding other Libra Rising features.
To be honest, I don't feel my ascendant and moon sign much, even if they are supposed to be some of the most important.

I agree with much of this^ Libra rising seems pretty subtle in me I can be likable pretty easy but i am a to myself type mostly. Also agree about the old clothes thing. New clothes make me nervous like im going to mess them up. I think its more being a frugal Earth sign, but Ive known Cancers to be very basic dressers. Females cant help themselves they do things like straight come up and compliment me on what they like. Not a relationship type. I attribute things to being a Taurus and Taurus dominate.The effects are probably different for some of the more social masculine polarity signs. But all Libras arent as sociable as the stereotype. Sometimes Im like completely bold and fearless in front of people.

I'm very new at astrology, so what I'm about to say has a chance to be stupid, but I think the ascendant, while it does matter a lot, is too easily stereotyped, as you said.
While it's supposed to be very important, and basically add its spice to everything else, the common definition for the Libra ascendant just doesn't work with me. Or maybe it does, in some weird twisted way. In either cases, it still doesn't actually describe me much, as the common definition is a "people's person", and that certainly isn't my case.
I found an inteesting alternate definition of it just a couple hours ago, but I lost it.

Cancer riser. My moods can go up and down a lot for sure (to the extremes if I'm not careful) and they're easily influenced by my surroundings. I also pick up collective energy which is not always a good thing. The shell is there but it's not all that hard to break through it tbh. I often get that "you seemed hard to approach" confession. But seemed is the keyword at the end of the day.

On the plus side it's a very warm, caring, feminine energy once you get to know it, even subtly teasy and playful. There is also great strength in this energy. It can come across as intimidating or down-right innocent, childlike... depending on the moods. Yeah, it can be a slave to those darn moods, but when it learns to control them there's no stopping it.
