Astrology: Western or Vedic?

Classic Western. It's simpler than Vedic and less contradictory than modern Western.

But if you can learn all the systems in Vedic, props to you.

What's "classic" western...I guess in comparison to modern? Idk

Classic/Traditional just uses the seven inner planets (from Saturn into the Moon aka the Chaldean Order) to rule all signs an elements. And aspects are based on light from one planet to another.

Modern astro is an attempt to copy Vedic, where the tropics/seasons rule the signs and elements and the outer planets are taken into account.

Classic/Traditional just uses the seven inner planets (from Saturn into the Moon aka the Chaldean Order) to rule all signs an elements. And aspects are based on light moving from one planet to another.

Simply put, if we can't see it in the sky (i.e. anything beyond Saturn) then it either doesn't count or it's difficult energy. Really simple, straightforward reading.

Modern astro is an attempt to copy Vedic, where the tropics/seasons rule the signs and elements and the outer planets are taken into account. A lot of it doesn't make sense because it's only been around for a few decades and no one has tied up all the loose ends in trying to mix up two different cultures.

Don't you believe the outer planets, especially Neptune and Pluto are significant in defining a person and their prospects for the future? I ask because the most beautiful and accurate synastry reading I got was based upon a compatibility of my Neptune with another person's planets. It was dead on accurate and without this planet, that no one sees, I never would have known.

So now I pay special attention to this. And Neptune has been elevated in my eyes. It's not just a planet of delusion, or potential failings, it can be a planet that indicates the most treasured of loves from a compatibility in the areas of imagination. Who knew?

Just some thoughts...

Western. Because I can relate more to western astrology than vedic. Not big fan of vedic astrology.
