Figuring out someones astrological sign if they were born on a leap year

I am trying to figure out someones astrological signs. They were born on February 29th, a date that does not happen every year. I do not know whether to use february 28th as their date of birth or march 1st. Some websites allow me to use february 29th as the date of birth, some do not. Any help is appreciated thank you.
