How Often Mercury Is in a Different Sign Than the Sun

Mercury is in a different zodiac sign than the Sun roughly 46 percent of the time, varying each year. This occurs because Mercury orbits the Sun faster, changing signs approximately every three weeks. Understanding this helps in interpreting Mercury's influence on communication and thought patterns in astrology.

I analysed a year at random, l got 196 days where the Sun and Mercury were the same sign, and 169 days where they were in different signs.

That's about 54% same sign, 46% different sign. 🙂 it's what l had estimated roughly, if l'd had to guess....so, there....?

Oh darn...sorry, l did the 2 following years, l got 48% same sign, then 45% ....ouch ...would need more tests...if anyone's up for it. Seems like an average occurance, 50% with probably a slightly higher chance of same sign.

Another Taurus here. Sorry. My Sun and Merc are both in Taurus and both in the twelfth house, but Taurus is also so my Asc. I've only got Fortune in my 1st house. So there's something a little different for ya.

Only because the posters previous to me were Taurus suns like me, but had Mercury in the same house. Mine was different. Split houses places my sun and Merc. in my 12th house. My Asc is also Taurus and I have Fortune in there. Of course, Pullen places my sun and Merc. in my first house, but I'm saving that for another thread.

How common is it to have both Venus and Mercury in same sun sign?

Oh not very common at all, Venus can be 2 signs away from Sun at the most, but Mars can be anywhere....l'd say there's a bit more of a chance they're one sign apart or same sign, but they can be anywhere. Mars's orbit is atypical, comoared to earth, for instance, Mars stays in the same sign for 6 months every 2 years. It's a stationary/retrograde thing.
