You’re right. It’s kind of a double edged sword. It’s hard for any kind of relationship to work without trust and the risk of being played is there once you start trusting another person.

There’s no win-win situation. You either trust and risk being played or you seclude yourself and end up in the corner of your room with maybe a couple of cats to keep you company.

Was gonna say something similar.

Give everything a chance. You're gonna be ok. If you concentrate on not getting played, you might miss out on love. Love is about giving too... sometimes all about giving🤷 Just know when to stop like Wagtail said.
