I just finished what I think is the best book I have ever read!!! It was so good that I carried it around with me everywhere I went, I slept with it, and ate with it etc...and every chance I could find, I would whip it out and go off in my other little world!!! The author is Wally Lamb, and the title of the novel is 'I Know This Much Is True'. I suggest if you want to enjoy a good read, check this out. It is a heartbreaking story and very true, for me. The story hit very close to home. The words flew off the pages into my heart.

The story line is of two identical twin brothers, one sane and the other not! On their mother's death bed, the sane brother is asked to be the keeper of the other. Love and guilt, anger and fear, resentment and very deep bonds. How does one twin become schizophrenic and the other beats the biochemical rap?

And the best passage that is sure to wet your eyes

"I am not a smart man, particularly, but one day, at long,
last, I stumbled from the dark woods of my own, and my family's, and my country's past, holDing in my hands these truths: that love grows from the
rich loam of forgiveness; that mongrels
make good dogs; that the evidence of God
exsits in the roundness of things.
This much, at least, I've figured out.
I know this much is true.

YEAH!!!! GOTTA TO LOVE IT~ I FEEL TERRIFIC.

Would like to hear of some more great ones out there! Any pics—

Sounds good.

Another to check out is "An imaginary life", by David Malouf.

It is a story about a guy, sentenced to exile, who finds a wild boy in the bush. It is so fantastic, it is my favourite book. The imagary is beautiful, when and if you read it, make sure you are outdoors. The writer has a way of entertwining death with nature and compassion. He mangages to communicate the inextricable link we all have to the above. A truelly beautiful tale.

I'll have a look on shelves for the above title next time im in the book shop.

PS. I still cant get past the classics such as Jane Eyre, Tess of the D'Urbavilles and Wuthering Heights. Also, George Orwell does it for me, 1984, Animal farm etc... I think ive read them all.

I still want to give 'Brave new world' another go. When i have time.

Nice to see some other readers on line.

Here are two more selections. If you like history and I do, you'll love these.
I wished I was born in the late 1800's!

Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose
(Lewis and Clark and Jefferson)

Nothing Like It in The World-- same author.
(about the men who built the transcontinental railroad 1863-1869)Those guys were awesome!!! They did it all by hand!!! I find it fascinating how things like tunnels under water, and suspension bridges and tall buildings and big dams, were built back when there were NO power tools or equipment, and they built it to last. Doesn't it blow your mind—
