OMG same here... It's takes me forever to move on. Well, from only three people... Three girls, but it's because they continuously hit me up... I suck at shutting them out, but getting better at it.
Bad habit, needs to change!
How?

How?
Isn't it obvious? Leave, do not wait in a limbo! You are wasting your time, which for women is even more precious than for men!
Besides, getting dumped, even by someone you don't fancy too much anymore, is far worse than leaving. Your ego will need longer to recover.
Be smart and treat yourself well. That is what I've learned.
It depends for me. Family/long term friends, very hard; but very easy for anyone else.
But.. Don't feel bad.
I'd rather relax. Some people jump from person to person to fill the voids... I'd rather face it head on and move on ... Then be with someone because I'm lonely. I'm noticing so many people together but not in love etc... I'd rather let myself completely heal.
Depends:
If I loved them: then a year or more. :/
But if I didn't and we just dated weeks/months but never said I love you and we both realize it's not going to work: a day.. Maybe 2.
My divorce taught me not to dwell on someone you know it's not going to work with long term. Just move on.. See the red flags early and let go.
@redbull- live and learn..
I do the opposite and marry them.
depends on how long the relationship.
short-term? like a year or two? not that long.
anything over the 3 year mark takes awhile to get over.

Whenever you know someone isn't for you how long does it take for you to move on and get over it?
For me I tend to linger around way too long because it's familiar. I can recognize fairly early that it's not going anywhere but I have a hard time giving up on romances. I'm usually the one dumped because I can't bring myself to break up with someone despite understanding that it's not working out.
