Is Ophiucus the sign for planet earth?
The way I see it, the sign of Earth is the combination of all the other signs around it at any given moment. It is all about locational perception. From another planet Earth may have a sign and symbol, but form Earth its sign and symbol is derived from the other signs and symbols.
PS: Just because Pluto isn't officially a planet anymore doesn't mean that it can't be Scorpio's 'planet'. After all Cancer's 'planet' is the Moon.
