This! I can't separate sex from love.

For one, my feelings have to run deep to even engage in sex.

Two, having sex is like a devotion from me, I put so much into it... there is no way I could be comfortable, or free and uninhibited without that security.

Imagine sex is like putting all your money and assets into that person and trusting the not to spend it or destroy your belongings... that's what having sex is like for me.

The whole experience was such a strange "moment" for me. I had recently ended a 4 year relationship where I'd felt unappreciated, hadn't been connecting mentally with him for awhile and hadn't had sex in about 2 years. (Complicated, long distance was part of it.)
