What is Venus retrograde like?

in natal. specifically in scorpio. im very curious. i dont understand these people

I have Scorpio Venus retrograde and don't notice anything particular about it that stands out as being a retrograde thing, necessarily. I have other aspects in my chart that could explain any of the beliefs I've read about retrograde planets.

What have you noticed? Anything in particular that confuses you?

Not showing any feelings mainly..

I knew a Scorpio Venus retrograde that conjuncted my Scorpio Venus direct, and whenever I would try to dig in and get intimate with him.. nothing happens. He doesn't react any particular way. I can't read him.

I did notice how he put more passion into sex. I felt like it was an outlet for him since he was having troubles with relationships.

This other person I know I think is a Scorpio Venus retrograde. He doesn't pay attention to me... but keeps me on a string. After a while, he glanced timidly at me and I turned away scared.. Since then he's been subtly throwing shade

That's quite different from how I act. I show feelings, and don't run from trying to be close to someone I'm involved with. Even when I feel fear about it, I don't run, I come forward, perhaps cautiously at first, but forward movement overall. No one was left guessing if I was interested in them. The only time I've had to be very guarded is with people I have good reason not to trust fully.

I think some people have trouble with Scorpio energy in themselves and they might be more guarded than they should be when getting close to someone. Maybe that explains the first Scorpio Venus person you mentioned. With the second, it doesn't make sense why he'd throw shade if nothing bad happened between the two of you, unless he's just an immature or troubled person, which may be the case. Have you asked him about it, in an open way (w/o being accusatory, I mean)? Maybe he'll be surprised that he's coming across so badly.

Well, that is defend mechanism. I do that too like the person dont feel any reaction from me. That is wall - too private to invade. Allow time to cool off.

They're both Scorpio Suns. First one is Nov 15. The other is Oct 24

They're both Scorpio Suns. First one is Nov 15. The other is Oct 24

I've been close to a number of people with Scorpio Venus (Libra, Scorpio and Sag sun people) and I just looked them up in my ephemeris to check for retrograde, and two have that but they didn't behave strangely as you've described. The only person who could be closer to what you detailed (very testing of me, and closed about his emotions) doesn't have a retrograde Scorpio Venus.

I've tended to not believe that retrograde planets are different than direct based on my personal experience with them (I have three retrograde planets in my chart) and other people I've known.
