What was wrong with the site ?
I would say the site uses two or more servers one was farting and the other didn't like it
upstream server down or the proxy couldn't understand the upstream server...it's due to network slowness
Also farting.
504 timeouts mean the proxy can't get you to where you want either it's down or one can't understand the other .....so bye bye
