What's in his(pisces)mind ?

we broke up but we are still great friends who fell in love w/ each other.
I'm cancer female.
we broke up but we still are great friends. he still talks to me the same way as before/during we were together.
my intuition tells me that he still cares for me and interested in me, unless he's just being nice to me ? or he feels sorry for me ? my problem is, when we hang out, we would both enjoy eachother's company like good ol friends, i am being my cool self then when i get drunk i would call him just to say hi or make sure he got home safely or text him (he's a bad texter and hates phones in general). sometimes he picks up the phone, sometimes don't.

then i'd get hurt and try to forget him... few days later he shows up on my birthday and out of nowhere called me up the other day just to tell me that he was going out of town. why would he do that ? he really confuses me. is he just being nice to me so i won't get hurt —

then i think i made a wrong move. i texted him : I was happy to see u the other night, but i hate myself for missing you until now.. anyhow have a great vacation, take care " on top it all off i even called him up !! he did pick up the phone but he was on the plane, so we just said our good byes...although he sounded kinda happy.

i hope he wasn't overwhelmed or anything?? im trying to be a cool friend but i keep blowing up every time !!! geez.
