hey! why did you name-change? i kind of miss you! your thread's no longer out there, i wonder 😢
I have a Jan 5th birthday. It sucks. People are always broke by your birthday. No one wants to go out and do anything, they are tapped out and partied out. You always get one thing for both your birthday and Christmas, or people are so stressed out because they want to get you something but they can't afford it, so you end up telling them they don't have to get you anything.

🙂 I can't tell how it felt when I was born and little but I can tell how it feels now as a grown up and thats not good! My bday is new years eve and yup everyone's celebrating but not my bday lol I could never have proper bday parties because of the new year's thing and all. All my bday parties turn into new years celebrations and although is easier to get all my friends to gather together is still annoying knowing they don't really celebrate me on the evening but another thing entirely. At least the champagne keeps flowing all evening. And I can't even be happy about celebrating it during the day earlier because I was born very near midnight!
The only positive is I get pressies twice within a matter of a week!
Yup, yup! My birthday is New Years Day. Same experience here. I always pay attention to who actually remembers at midnight to wish me a happy birthday. That tells me they really care!!!
And what you said about presents! Yup, a combo gift SUCKS, unless I get the choice to get something more expensive.
Funny, my kids used to compete with each other to tell me first! They'll even interrupt a midnight kiss! lol!
It SUCKS! My birthday is New Years Day and everyone either forgets or just plain doesn't care that it is my birthday because they are too buzy celebrating New Years Eve. No gifts, no parties, no cake, no cards, no phone calls, I get nothing! I haven't had a birthday party since I turned eleven years old. It hurts that no one seems to care that I was born, while everyone else gets to celebrate their birthday. I wish I was born on a different day, then maybe someone might remember or care that it is my birthday and I'd get cake and presents and a party too! I'm so used to not having a birthday that I just don't care anymore. I despise New Years Day and refuse to celebrate it out of spite!
Well, catbyte, I just don't let people forget its my birthday. I look at NYE parties as birthday parties. I will say:
"I get special privileges! It's my birthday!"
"Hey, bartender, do I get a free drink, it's my birthday".
"Everybody has to do a shot. I insist, No choice, It's my bday!"
I'm not obnoxious about it, and I don't say it over and over. I'll only say it once or twice. It is interesting to see who remembers at midnight. I will admit to playing the birthday card, though! 🙂

Whats funny is that forr being born in holiday season, Capricorns are never in holiday mood 😛
Back in my clubbing days I had so much fun with teasing the bartenders about asking for free drinks and stuff (it was all in fun). They got a kick out of me and enjoyed watching me "milk it". They would let the DJ know it was my birthday and after auld lange syne, the DJ would play happy birthday. Fun times!!!!

That is true. I really don't like Thanksgiving and Christmas is okay, but it's so stressful, I really don't enjoy it.
Now, Halloween!!! THAT's my favorite!
