Don't worry, it most likely has nothing to do with you. I'm sure he enjoys the company, he just likes to listen and be present. Don't take it personally. If you really want to get him to join in more then talk about things that he's very interested in. That might get him going.

True! I mean I guess I shouldn't just expect people to be interested about what I'm talking about, and I should ask others questions as well. Obv I have a little tweaking to do to my style of talking so others can join in and put input.

I'm this way. I generally enjoy seeing what people say, how they react and what they REALLY know. If I feel like or know you don't really know what you're talking about, you'll get extremely short answers. I'm not a big talker either way though.

This is exactly why at times I would hold my tongue because I didn't want to sound dumb.
And any reason why YOU'RE not? a big talker?

When younger are more shy, introvert, when older they become chatty. That is my observation on them.I know a young Cap who comes to my shop every morning and oh boy-his voice is gutural,he is so nervous when he asks for bread.
My bf(42 y/o) told me he was very shy when younger, now he talks non stop-)
