I just HAD to share this to everyone- I almost cried last night when this happened (well, as close as someone who's only cried twice in 4 years comes to crying anyway, which isn't very):

My "friend" and the Taurus girl (talked about on another post) went to Boston, MA a few weeks ago to see the Blueman Group live in concert. Apparently the whole time she was thinking of me, because some distant part of her brain could envision me painted in blue, drumming and dancing like a madman on stage in front of a gajillion screaming fans- and apparently I'm frickin' hillarious to her too and the Bluemen do comedy WHILE performing music and dance! Afterwards, as she related the story to me, the Bluemen (who had singled her out several times when they jumped offstage into the crowd) came to talk to her and her cousin, who she went with. I don't know what was said, but somehow I ended up with the percussionist's beat-up drumsticks for a graduation present! What a rush- I'm totally gassed! But it's so sad that I'll never be able to see her again after she moves in a few weeks and I go to college. I dunno, but I like her an awful lot for someone who plays me and makes me hate the world...

It was such a good gift I can't not post it on every board. Mwahaha!

Hey Josh,

One must remember that this is a very small world. You may see her again.....I have moved many miles away from my home and have run into people from my high school....ya just NEVER know. Where do you think the word "miracle" comes from? Things happen in weird ways that cannot be explained logically.....welcome to earth!

Oh, and......this is no doubt a "moment" you will always remember and cherish...you may not remember the day, but you will remember this moment. 🙂 I am happy for you and your friend and your very special gift.

I've decided on how to make the gift even more special, or at least longer lasting. Since they were used in performance by this famous group, I've decided to only use them in performance, starting tomorrow with the school band at the Memorial Day parade. They're almost the same size as our standard concert snare sticks, which is 5A. These are 5B and don't have the plastic tips, so they'd last longer and have a fuller sounding stroke. I like this idea.
