The day is fast approaching when humanity will reach a technological singularity when Artificial Intelligence can process to a point greater than human intelligence and can perhaps change civilization and maybe even human nature. I feel this moment would be a definite game changer and I'd like to be alive to see it to a point where AI can understand human nature. If a machine can learn from humanity's mistakes and it's success than they can be more human then we are ourselves. But I feel it may have a slight drawback. What if machines chose not serve humans? What if an AI determined that we are not just to live on this planet? An advanced AI that lives within an android body could easily decide to kill anyone that's human with an enormous amount of strength and possibly would be too much even for three people. This comes along with my fear that machines could easily turn against, either because they were programmed to do so or they were hit with a severe virus. But if all moves along well in the future I can officially say there is a new species of human- "Homo Machinia". The Machine Man. A technological singularity will be reachable in at least 30 years. I can't wait for the day to come. Though precautions should be taken. What do you think?

Interesting concept. Reminds me of an old movie called Westworld. If you've never seen it, it's definitely worth watching.

Here's a taste of it:

The thing about pure AI systems is that it may never be possible to make one that has a totally "round" and "natural" personality, in which case I think it is somewhat unlikely that they could run us off the planet because they would never have the guts too and they would be so easily identifiable. Have you ever seen Blade Runner?

Here's a taste of it:

And Terminator and Steven King's Maximum Overdrive and there are lots more with this theme.

It is quite a scary thought.

Of course, there are lots more. I just happen to like this particular one because Yul Brynner was one of my fave old-time actors!
