What gives caps? Was he looking for reassurance that Im here to stay despite his balance? How long til you show your s/o this sort of info?

So he basically showed it to me so there wouldn't be any surprises or rather misunderstandings in the future

Wow, I would never do anything like that. Obviously he's proud of it, and I'm thinking expected you to be impressed. My Cap friend would do something like that. What a turnoff.

I mean the amt he has isnt anything I have never myself possessed before so I was neither impressed nor turned off

If is a good bank account ,i think is for showing 'i can take care of you'.My bf ,every time we are going out ,takes out from his pocket a big amount of money(doesnt have a wallet) ,when paying for pizza-).
When showing off with money,is a good sign.When cheap, he doesnt see the other person as the long run gf.

Hmm, testing your reaction to see what you think about money or possibly, I'll show you mine, you show me yours? Caps are always thinking about money. They need to know early on where you stand with it.

Oh so I guess now he showed me because he was contemplating buying an item worth a bit more than what he had... He kept asking my opinion of it so..

Me: do you have any current debt?
Cap: Yes I have credit card ballance of ___ ( $ 500 more than his total bank balance)
Me: Why dont u pay that off first so youll be free to buy your toys later without the weight of debt?
Cap: Hmmm.... Well because I have to put this much down and THEN pay the ___ (amt of balance)

(asks again I say the same then)
(Hours later)

Cap: should I buy it?
Me: Yes Cap, buy your toy.
Cap: haha youre just saying that to shut me up
Me: gigle and eye roll.

Ok so now I get why he showed me. He wanted me to see the whole pic, to weigh and compare the pros and cons of buying this toy depending on the amt of $ he currently has, and give him my honest opinion.
